I'm not now....lol There was just a white one under a light when the sun went down this evening at the dealership and it was smiling at me. Maybe when the price drops.

Don't do it man, you are just diggin yourself more into debt and thus will cause you work to for the car, which will ruin some of the enjoyment of owning this car.
I haven't pulled the trigger yet. I just can't stand the thought of paying the bill. My goal now is to buy a house first, then the car comes next. Just trying to learn from past mistakes. You know how that saying goes "if you have to ask, you probably can't afford it"

I have added a poll on the top so that you get an accurate result. As everyone already said, "Don't do it". One thing you don't want to do is get yourself in more debt than you have to. 09 Maximas are very attractive and I wouldn't mind driving one. BTW, how much do you pay per month on the Maxima? Do you really have to get a Touring Z? you can get a base Z with sports package for 31,000.

553/mo. right now for the Maxima. I am happy with that, but I just thought the 370 was more of my style vehicle. I asked the dealer if I could get a base Z with Sports package, but he said he couldn't find one. Thanks for the poll and the advice.

Patience is a virtue. Just wait. It's only been out for 1 week. Too much hype going on. Everything will calm down eventually.

I know it's hard but it pays to wait a bit as you can do a lot better in 9 months or so. By then the 2010's will be coming out, probably with a re-designed fuel guage and perhaps a digital speedometer which everyone wants.

This will combine with an already horrible economy and make the 2009 370Z a bargain, perhaps invoice or below

As some people have mentioned, WAIT!! And as you are waiting, consider selling your Maxima instead of trading in. Deal with internet managers instead and name your price. You didn't land on your price? - call around. Invoice or below should be a fair deal between you and the dealership.

Lastly, stop being implusive!

Good luck!

I voted No..

Reasons are..

You purchased your Maxima too recently, If you really have to do a trade in, you should wait on that at least a few years.

Never trade in something you owe money on, once you start that "upside down hole" it's really tuff to get out of it. Imo private sale it.

Lastly you mentioned parents etc.. So Im assuming your young. Don't forget on top of your (high) car payments. Will be insurance coverage ,which is going to very high for younger drivers, also fuel and maintance costs, which too are a bit higher for a car of this type.

So like some have mentioned.. Wait..As there's always time to get a new car etc.. Don't get me wrong, I know how ya feel, I was at that stage once. Hey! We (us older dudes)all have at one time..

Whatever you decide good luck.

If you need to make a payment for more than 18-20% (still to high IMO) of you monthly income your doing something very wrong.

I don't know the details of your deal but I can tell you that you'll be much happier buying this car with saved up money.

"You live only once," is a very poor excuse indeed. What is stopping you from simply delaying your purchase a few years until you can save up to buy this car with less stress.

I should have started off saying that I am an impulse buyer and i has got me in alot of trouble and debt, but we only live once. Anyway, I need some advice. I talked to the General Sales Manager and after he valued my trade (I owe 37,000) and put in the picture a White 370Z touring, M/T, sport package (stickered at 41,000 something), he came up with the number 869/mo. with 2,000 down. I would be financing a little over 49,000. I told him that I needed to think about it and so I went to another dealership a week later to see if they could do better and this dealership said that they couldn't even come close to that number (869/mo.), so I went back to the first dealership and told them that I was interested in their offer and the Sales Manager said that he would locate a white one for me, because they only had a black and a silver, if I "agreed to make the deal" right there. I needed someone to talk to and unfortunatly I can't talk to my parents because they just don't understand my love for cars and I really don't have alot of friends because I'm new to Georgia. What should I do? Is 869/mo. rediculous for this car? Am I rediculous for even thinking about making this deal? Help me!

Q - What are your payments now, on Maxima ?
A

Q How long at the $869 payments for?
A

Q How fast can you get $10,000
A

Q What are the payments on just buying the 370Z ?????
A

Smile Jeepersnape, don't do it

Hi to all the Z-lovers!!
If you all don't mind, I'll wax nostalgic for a bit. Reading these forums takes me back to 1970-71, as a 2-striper stationed in 'Nam, reading car mags and falling in love with something called a 240-Z. Returning to the states, I tried to buy one..couldn't swing it. Dealers were loading up the cars with all options and they were over $5000 out the door (for a $3500 car..remember, it was 1971! Making less than $400 a month, I "settled" for a new Dodge Challenger (still not so bad) but couldn't get the "Z" out of my mind.
Long story short, I finally got my "Z" in '75, a new 280-Z, which I kept for 2 years and traded in on a new '77 280. Sold her when our daughter was born in '79. My wife and I have been fortunate enough to have several new cars since then, but now, at 60, I feel a little of that old excitement
and expectation creeping in, as I peruse this forum. I understand completely the 'gotta have it' feeling as you look at the pix, read the reviews, and also read these posts from those who hve been fortunate enough to just get theirs, have it on order, or just want to drool.
To Jeepersnate: You've been given some good advice in these posts from our Z-lovin' friends. Don't trade at this time. Keep the Max (it's a great car). wait until you can comfortably afford it. 72 mos @ $869 a month is $62K+..that's a lot of bread for a $30K car. It sounds like you're young yet, believe me, you've got time. Let the market cool off (look what happened to the GT-R's). Were I you, I'd wait at least 2 years before I traded in, or sold it off myself. I know, a lot easier to say than to actually do, but your chance will come. You'll get your Z, just as I finally got mine. Just wait it out. As for me? I figure I have 1 more new car left in me, and this drive does look pretty sweet; but I think I'll wait a few months, when the hype cools down, and then I'll take a little shopping trip. It'll be like 1975 again, and I'll be walking into the Datsun dealer (oop's!) NISSAN dealer, and there she'll be..Life is sweet...........
