I did consider the FR-S. But it didn't really present the value the Z did when you are looking for a sports car. It's a Celica... and a very pricey one at that. I like it for a lot of reasons, but just like the two celicas I owned, it's a sporty car not a sports car.

Another reason is that the 370z is a fine looking car, a car that looks like it will be a classic. It doesn't really seem trendy, it has a nice curve reminding me of a beefier 928s Porsche. Every time I park, I look back at least once at that sexy wide booty.

The 370z gets disrespected for a few reasons. Its a niche car. There aren't any other actual competitors in its price range that you can compare apples to apples. Its a 2 seater sports car. So, it is often compared to the Mustang GT and Camaro SS. Sports cars and muscle cars are two different things. So when compared, the Zs power is lacking.

Another thing is the Z isn't the best at anything, but it is pretty good in most areas. Therefore its looked over by most bloggers and critics because there is another car that "outshines" the Z in a specific category, and they glorify it for that.

It seems that even Nissan has forgotten about the car which also adds to the flame. Look at the FRS/BRZ. The marketing on that car has teenagers/young adults believing its the best car under a million dollars. Most magazine articles, blogs, big name video reviews swing on the testicles (or lack there of) of this car like Tarzan. When was the last time you saw a Z commercial? The last time I saw one wasn't even a Z commercial. It was a guy stretching his Z into a Maxima. It has also had very minor "updates".

The aftermarket for the Z is also pretty slim compared to other sporty cars. Not to mention expensive when talking about other similarly priced vehicles aftermarket choices.

As to why the FRS/BRZ guys are hating, probably because they are internet warriors who have never driven a 370z. People read things on the internet and take it for gold rather than doing their own personal research. They repeat information someone else has said as something they know as fact. I don't say anything about the FRS/BRZ's driving characteristics because I have never driven one.

100% facts!

That's the only damn Z commercial I've ever seen. I've seen the debut commercial of the brz with the driver power sliding through canyon corners, the frs commercials as well and even the new TRD edition. Not once have I seen a nismo 370z commercial or an official 370z commercial. There's tons of altima and maxima commercials.

Like stated above its a niche car and they don't sell that many from what I hear. So they probably can't justify the marketing on a car that doesn't appeal to a broad spectrum of people. How about that infinity q50 eau rouge commercial though.

Which makes sense I suppose. Funny thing is that I get compliments everywhere I go. My gf works in the corp. building and when I go to pick her up in the parking lot outside the entrance, I see brand new lexus gs models, new audi's, bmw m5's, corvettes, mercedes amg models. Once their shift ends and they come outside, take a glance at my car and they flock right to it. My car is stock minus the painted factory wheels but they absolutely love it and say..
"wow, such a beautiful car, who makes it?"
Thank you! It's a Nissan 370z
"what? I didn't know nissan made such a beautiful car"

I get that ALL THE TIME lol

Yeah I get a lot of looks and compliments from people. They are a beautiful car in every way. Well the mercades, Audi, BMW people will say it has cheap interior. The camaro, mustang, challenger, people will say it doesn't have enough power or 4 seats. The corvette, viper guys, are usually to into themselves to give a **** about any other car than what they own. Lol those are my opinions.

Only Maxima commercial I recall is the Z stretch one, it has been pretty much overlooked by Nissan of recent like the Z. Its about the bread and butter Altima!

Very true. Scion as well as Subaru have strong marketing and large numbers of followers. I said it before, i think the BRZ/FRS is a good car but at the same time i think it is a gimmick, kind of a trend or fab. Sure a lot of car enthusiasts buy the FRS/BRZ and like it for the fun factor but at the same time a lot of youngsters also buy the car. I have a strong suspicion that many BRZ/FRS owners do not know much about the car they purchased, no i know that for a fact after going over and visiting their forum and speaking to actual owners.

BRZ/FRS owners seem out of touch with reality. They speak about their BRZ's and FRS's as the finest handling cars in the world. Others actually think that they have a fast car or by dropping a few hundred pounds that they will magically be running high 13 second 1/4s.

Honestly that was one turn off for me, i did not want to be associated with people that wear backwards baseball caps and have a vocabulary that consists of 'yo dawg' and 'that's hella tight'.

Cayman gts are the handling cars to beat. The fr-s/brz can even throw a rock close to the Cayman.

Yo dawg my FRS is tight...tighter then the Cayman. It eats 370z's and Caymans on the track for breakfast. With the right driver and cold air intake the FRS can easily keep up with both cars.

Power slides dawg, don't you know my FRS can drift into corners? I can leave both cars in the dust, haven't you seen the reviews for the FRS or BRZ? Come on now dawg....once i get a turbo i will eat vetts all day too and probably smoke lambos too.

Me and my homies are goin' down to the Wendy'd parking lot, FRS's, BRZ's V-tec's....yea...what now haters?

Prepare to be underwhelmed. My bothers friend bought a brand new brz premium when they first came out. Pre ordered it like 1 year ahead of time and everything. He didn't know **** about cars but because he heard they were going to be the next big thing. He bought it 33k out the door. Then I bought my 370z and he drove it, he hates himself now to say the least.
