ummmm.....jackstands FTW.... I had to look twice at this post, and then look at your location... I thought for sure this was some place in Alabama... :rofl2:

jpkirk 03-03-2015 08:20 PM

Today, while Mother Nature was throwing ice pellets at our little neighborhood, I went and sat in the Z. Started it up, backed it up a little to get the exhaust outside the garage, warmed the oil up to 190 degrees, and moved it back into the garage, a little further forward from where it was. It was nice to sit in it.

FairladyZ10PG 03-03-2015 08:26 PM

^It would kill me not to be able to drive my Z

Guess I should consider myself lucky to be in the west coast :)

85 degrees tomorrow in Jville tomorrow. Installed a Stillen trans cooler today. Coincidence? I think not

daywalker 03-04-2015 11:39 AM

Seriously need some Z time. Been about 3 weeks since I've driven her. Between crappy NC weather and work, work, work all I've done is look at her on my way out the door.

Coming home and seeing that azz as the garage door opens is a thing of beauty, though.

jmayz 03-04-2015 12:33 PM

If the weather can stay dry a few more hours I'll be driving mine home for the first time! If it snows I'll wait a day. :(

Amj2020 03-04-2015 12:34 PM

Today I looked outside, saw tons of snow, went into my garage, opened a beer and sat there looking at my Z longing for warmer weather and salt free roads!

You know, last year just around this time of year, I was driving mine home for the first time, at night. My wife, son and his girlfriend went with me. About a 50 mile drive. It was dry and in the 50's as I recall. I clearly remember my sons girlfriend whispering to him, "look at the size of those tires!" I got the sports package so yea, nice big tires in the back.

Life was good then. Life is good now.

:ugh:

I ran it about 2K RPM until it was warm. An interesting note. I also tried to blip it higher and found an interesting thing about the Z. Under no load conditions it cuts fuel at 4.5K RPM. I didn't know this but it is in the manual. I read the manual front to back a year ago. Trivia I did not retain. You can hold it to the floor and it will only go to 4.5K. I think that is kinda cool.

Makes me wonder if they were initially planning some kind of launch control capability.

What did you do with your Z today VI (ON TOPIC DISCUSSION ONLY)

Partially installed my homelink mirror in my base, and put up a mirror mount for my v1. Cut my cords too short to quite reach my fuse box, so decided to just tuck them away for tonight and get back to it after work tomorrow *facepalm*

Edit: adjusted the mount this morning. Much more flush and stealth now. Just need to set up my concealed display and I'll be rolling

Got some new shoes! Sized up to 255/40 and 285/35. Potenza S04 Pole Position. These are about 3 decibels quieter on the freeway going 80 than the stock tires, which were bald on the inside rears at 17K. Breaks lose very predictably and is far easier to modulate during some light drifting, but that's probably a comparison of bald vs new tires.

Lol that's what happens when you never drive with VDC and have a heavy right foot when turning (in safe locations)! Yes stock tires.

Installed the Fujimura Diffuser, I'm happy with how it looks!

370zseth 03-06-2015 10:14 AM

Brought her to work.

jmayz 03-06-2015 10:29 AM

I opened up the garage, looked at it for a minute. Then got into the crappy company truck and drove to work with a frown.

I just brought her home last night!

Weekend is coming. I opened the garage to 10 inches of snow (cleared driveway last night) and freshly laid chemistry on the street. Woo Hooo! :shakes head:

You should go :driving: this weekend.

Welcome to the club.

kenchan 03-06-2015 11:06 AM

daywalker 03-06-2015 11:49 AM

Dry, sunny and mild this weekend. About. Effing. Time.

Hello from

I'm actually heading home since I got about 300 shots in a short amount of time. It's also kind of lonely without a buddy. Hubs will be joining me for the next two days though.
