so many canyons to carve.

True, but I just hear so much bad about the CA emissions and other car laws. It turns me off of ever wanting to live there.

Not to mention cost of living is way high, so a $65k/yr salary (for example) doesn't seem so great in CA as it does in AZ.

It's just that AZ has zero culture. Zero things to do, outside of year-round golf. :D

I'm considering it, but change is difficult. I've been here my entire 29.9 years.

I spent a lot of years in SoCal, and I'd probably still be there EXCEPT:

1) GUN RESTRICTIONS
2) GUN RESTRICTIONS
3) GUN RESTRICTIONS

4) Smog tests

oh... must not forget... uninsured, undocumented residents... :p

Well, I don't own any guns, but I hear ya. The smog test stuff, yeah... esp. running HFCs.

And the uninsured/undocumented residents is rampant over here in Phoenix too, so that'd be nothing new.

However, I bet my car insurance premium would go up too, if I moved there. Never thought of that.

yah, you gotta pay to play. :D

Just had the first set of front tires put on today at 34,400 miles. I could have went a bit longer but the tires were warn funny due to the previous owner that didn't notice the shipping blocks in the front springs. So, Bridgestone SO4 265/35 19's it was. I could have went to 275's, oh well. Next time.

That is a nice tire choice.

Now, the gut wrenching time to make a decision on Swift's/Koni or a Coilover set. I'll think about it for a week or two and then give up...LOL

There is no think, only "do".

Koni/Swift

Sanded down and recleared my NISMO B-pillar covers

After nearly 7 years the original clear was mostly gone so now they are new again!

Try being told your moving to different continent after 28 years withing the same 2 hour radius. It's been a challenge. lol. But honestly change is good if you just embrace it.

Bananaz 02-27-2015 06:52 PM

I can't wait to start washing her 2x a week again. Ugh this crappy weather has been such a mindgame after being a detailer. I cannot stand my car dirty but it's gonna get dirty a few hours after I wash it.

Leaving sunday for Vermont so she can rest for a week :)

JARblue 02-27-2015 07:09 PM

Tried to turn off SRM before realizing that I did not reconnect the hazard lights and SRM button when I removed and reinstalled the center console assembly last weekend. I plugged it quickly at a stop light. Good thing, too, because about 15 miles down the road I needed the hazards to warn the vehicles behind me of an obstacle in the roadway (someone's front bumper :icon14:).

370zseth 02-28-2015 07:01 AM

Omw to get her cleaned up for the weekend.

jpkirk 02-28-2015 09:35 AM

Z is still hibernating. I flick the periodic speck of dust off.

Spring is coming.

Memphis370Z 02-28-2015 07:02 PM

Given all of the ice we've had down here the past couple of weeks, and given that it got up to 50-degrees today, I gave her a bath to get all of the salt, muck, and grime off of her. It's been a while since I've washed her and I had forgotten how good a black car looks when it's spotless. Of course, the forecast calls for rain for the next 3-4 days...:ugh2:

JC-Nismo 02-28-2015 07:37 PM

Been driving my SRT8 all day, but took the time to snap a lousy garage pic. Hope it doesn't rain like the forecast says so I can take the Z to Caffeine and Octane in the morning.

Merv needs to make a correction in his prior post. He installed my Swifts and camber arms, then did his exhaust. Sounds sweet.
Dammit. Now I need to spend more mod $$$.

Did an oil change, clutch fluid exchange, and install my FI CBE non-resonated exhaust today. Rainy, sloppy, miserably cold day. Good day to be in the garage.

I looked at it hibernating in the garage. Can't wait to get it out again. I'll have to wait a bit longer, as today was filled with freezing rain.

Took my Z in for its 2nd oil change. Yeah, I know I could do it, but I just don't want to. And if I had, I would have missed this confidence-inspiring experience at my local dealership:

I tell the service tech I want an oil change as it has been six months since they had done it and specified what oil I wanted. He writes the order ticket and I head to the suckers' lounge. After a couple of minutes he comes and finds me and this conversation takes place:

ST: You've had your oil changed before, haven't you?
Me: Yes. Y'all changed it exactly 6 months ago. You should have a record of it.
ST: What model is it? You were probably thinking every 3750 miles.
Me: It's a '14. But it's been six months.
ST: A '14? You only need to change the oil every 5000 miles.
Me: The manual says it needs to be changed every 6 months or 5000 miles so as not to void the warranty.
ST: [using pencil & paper] But it has only been 2400 miles since your last oil change.
Me: I haven't driven it much, but it has been six months.
ST: We'll change it for you this time, but next time remember that it is every 5000 miles or six months, whichever comes first.
Me: You mean like if six months comes before 5000 miles?
ST: Yep. [nods with satisfaction and exits stage right]

I felt like Bud Abbot and wondered if he ever felt like putting a gun barrel in his mouth and pulling the trigger.

I can't wait until my next visit!

Good grief. Seemingly, if you can fog a mirror, you can get a job as a service tech these days.

To be fair, they were quite busy and the guy was frazzled. I think he just overthought an attempt to save me some money. His intentions seemed honorable, which was quite refreshing. I got the service I wanted, so no harm, no foul.

But it was an aggravating --> amusing experience, to say the least.

Had my F.I. CBE delivered yesterday. Lucked out finding a used one for sale and snatched it up. Had to go to Post Office to get it as I missed the delivery. The box wouldn't fit in my Z so I proceeded to empty out its' contents all bubble wrapped up and put the pieces in individually right in the back of the building. I got a few stares to say the least. :rofl2:

Some Chemical Guys metal polish on the tips and canisters and it is shining like new. Will install this along with putting my Sport Rays back on within the next few weeks. Can't wait!
