Transmission was whining in every gear even though tranny fluid was topped off and was starting to become worse within the last few weeks

:ugh:

Driving season over or are you just parking it in the garage so you can molest it when nobody is watching. I thought you were a leather, chains, and whips kind of guy.

No, no, no....stabil is the name of kenchans anti-psychotic medication :D

BoneZ 09-10-2015 10:24 PM

I sat and gazed at the Z, contemplating how to install a trans fluid temp gauge.

Installed a momentary button for the garage door opener. Wondering what I can do for the final button..

This rocker switch is manufactured by McGill. Took me a while to find one that fit, but I definitely prefer these rounded edges over the rectangular rocker.

Would you mind sharing where you found that particular switch?

Much obliged :tiphat:

Picked it up from eBay, there are a few listings for the 2 pin. I ordered from this listing: McGill Marine on Off Momentary Rocker Switch | eBay

Could you elaborate more on your symptoms? I've got the typical pilot bearing noise at idle (goes away when you clutch in). It's noisy while driving at low speeds (flywheel chatter and some whining) but I can't tell if it's normal or not since our MTs sounds like they belong on a semi.

ourdelusions 09-12-2015 07:31 AM

Dumped it off at the dealership because my CSC and clutch **** the bed

For me i know for a fact that my clutch needs to be changed out as my pilot bearing is going out as well, the thing that lead me to suspect the transmission was on its way out was that what ever gear i would have it in it would constantly whine and the whine would increase in volume the higher up in the rpm's you would go and from what I've read online and from talking to some people on this forum it all pointed to it being a case of a wrecked transmission. Sure enough i actually got a call from the dealership yesterday after my warranty company had checked it out and they went ahead and authorized for the transmission to be replaced.

Everything they say about the Motordyne intake upgrade is true. Wow.

Taffyapple-free drive in the country on the twisties. Just what I needed to clear my head!

Oh, and just received my order from The Rag Company. :excited:

Logged about 150miles on the Z today. Weather was perfect today. Had a Civic tail gate me bc he was too slow to pass me. Then had a Silverado try to race me to the lane merge (I wound it out through 3rd just to show him his place). Idiot drivers in full force today. :ugh:

JARblue 09-13-2015 08:16 AM

Yesterday I drove around in the Z wearing a 370Z shirt and a Z34 logo hat  :driving:

Yeah, I got some Eagle Edgeless and a few others. They were still discounted after the Labor Day sale ended, so I snapped up a half-dozen of them!

Last night was the first wash in 2 weeks and I did a quick interior cleanup too.
Today the drive in to work was absolutely beautiful and I just wanted to keep driving.

Ghostvette 09-15-2015 10:20 AM

Changed the oil last night and found this massive chunk of rubber hanging out on the under tray. :icon14:

Now I have to look for what it hit.... :ugh2:
