I travel for my work and rent a car every week. It is usually a Maxima or Altima. Winter time, I get a 4X4 like a Suburban. Have you ever done donuts, and I mean full multiple 360's, in a Suburban in the snow (on a private company driveway -- not a public road)? It's a blast.

In that case either rent a rear wheel drive car or do them right before you change tires!

aszyd 08-16-2014 12:41 AM

TBH, there are no really good, close places to go hoon my car. I live about 5 minutes away from a police station, and no empty lots close by. As my wife stated tonight, my car is "obnoxiously loud," so it attracts attention very easily.

What did you do with your Z today VI (ON TOPIC DISCUSSION ONLY)

Congrats on the new Z. I remember a while back I was researching this forum, you know older posts and I came across your one when you were hit by another car etc. I dont think the thread concluded with you saying anything about the car being totalled and you buying a new Z.

kenchan 08-16-2014 02:56 PM

adjusted psi in spare.

I just finished washing, sealing, and topped her off with wax. The car's pretty detailed right now......except for the psi on my spare. Thanks for reminding me.
I always forget. I just did my four corners and now have to do my spare.

Yeah, my 40th got creamed by a lunatic in a 1993 Nissan pickup and it was a total loss. Initial estimate was $28,500...

I have had this one since June 2013.

I actually clayed my side skirts from some of the gunk... then on my little cruise I went over some wet sand/dirt from random road work.

I went to the gas station filled up and wiped my entire car down with QD... AFTER I WASHED IT....:shakes head:

kenchan 08-17-2014 03:25 PM

yah, it's a lot of work keeping a car clean. :D i qd after each drive.

Two, one for spare in the attic. You know, in case of emergency.

I continued my gauge and oil cooler projects by getting the gauge sensors into the engine bay and securing the gauges to the dash. For the oil cooler, I mounted it on the car. Hopefully, next week will be an oil change and getting the cooler and sensors plumbed into the oil system. Baby steps, but I'll get there.

you guys have all sorts of fun and intense projects going on and im posting up super simple tasks.. like...

(you) csc/rear diff mount/oil cooler install vs (me) flinged off dead mosquito from roof. :ugh:

aszyd 08-17-2014 07:33 PM

I will eventually get to that point. I just need to stop buying parts. I thought I was close, but then Z1 announced that they were going to start selling 2015 Nismo body kits. A front end conversion has been on my list since the face lift was announced.
