1 more month! (Yup, still in storage with the moostangs)

night blade 03-01-2016 09:28 AM

Yes, counting down the days to take the wrap off and drive it around again, been a painful 3 months without my beast.

:happydance::happydance::happydance: Oh yeah baby... just checked the extended forecast and I am pulling her out of hibernation next week!

There may still be a few chilly days but looks like the snow is behind us! (well, after tomorrow :ugh2:)

I know it has poured here lately without any snow, but I am sitll hesitant about remaining salt from the trucks. I'll hold off until April just to be on the safe end. Gives me more time to buy some parts anyways.

INGS +1 rep lip is up next.

Good bless ya brutha! I don't have the patience... lol

I, too, am hesitant about the remaining salt residue, but I'm feeling like its minimal at this point... although there will be a fresh layer after tomorrow's forcasted snow :shakes head:

I'll be playing it by ear... but she'll be ready when the conditions are right!

Dude... i'm from central NY. This time last year, it was -24 and we had over 8 feet on the ground. We deserve a freaking break. I didn't get to play golf until the end of May.

Ya know... it was pretty shatty last year... BUT i remember distinctly that I picked up Jolene on March 18th and pretty much drove here everyday after that so I'm trying to best that by a couple weeks this year!

Yea, yea. Rub it in. If the forecast looks clear, it'll be out the first week of April. Front lip, spoiler, wheel spacers, cai and an intense detailing will take place. It's killing me to try the four stars paint protection liquid I got. So mid April I should be up and running for a meet haha.

I'll keep you updated. Madwi here on the forums swears by it. That and some collinite wax. Best combo ever haha.

mishuko 03-02-2016 06:57 AM

well I checked the extended weather forecast and it'll warm up next week... mid march released back to the wild ??? I hope!

made sure there was clearance and shifted some stuff around the garage so the z doesn't get uhh swirled... or act as an over priced not really soft landing cushion to the shovels...

njobe89 03-02-2016 07:24 AM

yeah, all this snow. gosh how will i ever drive my car. oh yea that's right, i'm in the south where it's decent weather year round and no snow.

well I wish more mileage upon your block!!!!! :bowrofl:

it was LOOKING good and then turned for the worst. but again looking bright again. apparently we broke the 'record' for snowfall on march 1 yesterday lol.

about 5 inches of snow in the city. on the bright side the cleaners actually did their job fairly well this time. :rofl2:

Leingod 03-02-2016 08:59 AM

I don't feel as bad anymore. The itch to drive is insane. The itch to install all the stuff I am ordering is even worse!

INGS+1 Rep Lip
OEM Spoiler with N-Type add-on
20/25MM Spacers
3 new shift knobs to play with
And now looking at some CAI's. A little hesitant though sicne finding a tuner in CNY is damn near impossible.

:iagree: , I don't know how all you guys just lock your Zs away & wait for the snow to melt.

Damn... Gonna look nice with that lip/spoiler combo

(I've been seriously looking at that little edge strip on the new Nismo spoiler to see A. if it can be easily removed, and B. if an additional piece could be attached... similar to what your doing)

a tuner in CNY?? Ha! lemme know if you find one!

I'll tell ya how... WE HAVE NO CHOICE. :eekdance:

I mean, you could get away with it (save for a few crazy snowfalls) but road salt will destroy your car real fast around these parts

Hmmm, not sure. Aren't the newer nismo spoilers molded right into the rear? I'd think they'd be a different structure that using an add-on spoiler. I plan to look around out in Buffalo for a tuner using ecutek.

That's why every other Moostang you see is rusted beyond hell.

Yup... thats correct, but what I'm looking at is this little "insert" that runs along the edge of the spoiler and it looks like it's semi-recessed into the main spoiler body. It looks like it would come off if pried hard enough but I'm too much of a pussy to be the first guy to ry it. lol

Seems like its prime for some type of wicker bill or something...

Is the finisher the part that covers up the nasty skinny looking stick that the knob screws down on to? Just wondering cause i was actually looking for something since i also changed my shift knob lol

mishuko 03-03-2016 08:11 AM

looking at the 14-day forecast for the weather. next week has a LOT of rain midweek with nice double digit temps!

I MIGHT be able to bring her out in about 2 weeks assuming the temps stay above 0 and no snow in the forecast!

oh and started inquiring about a tune to compare ecutek/uprev prices (or availability in my case). time to clean up my AFR and get rid of that throttle lag!

imjello 03-03-2016 09:12 AM

Y'all are missing out on all the cheap premium gas, paid $1.70ish the other day, and just combusted it without a care in the world

to cover the shaft u need to make a spacer inside the boot to keep the top of the boot from sliding down the shaft. i have a bunch of these plastic collars dat came with my wireshelves as packing material to separate the shelves during shipping. those work great for this purpose.

the finisher is to make the knob appear more fluid to the boot, and to cover the factory boot's creased top from the stock knob. you see a creased ring around bdingo's boot just under the knob. that looks unfinished.. well, at least to me. he apparently bought a finisher for it.

i made mine out of a ballcock shank washer. its my favorite homedepot mod.. :ugh:
