Working on the new Tanabe gauges. Finally got them powered on with the stock harness. It will be a few days until I can get them fully working. I need to buy an adapter of some sort to actually get them connected to the oil system.

Currently waiting at Discount Tire for a wheel balance. I've already gone over my side skirt concerns with the tech, here's hoping they don't make my crack worse.

Did you bring donuts for the techs? Donuts grease the wheels of cooperation and service.

Still waiting........

Fountainhead 08-09-2014 03:56 PM

Oh boy, when I took mine to tire guys they put the side lifts under the car but didn't move the extensions far enough and they tried to lift my car with about 1" of metal digging into the side skirts before the pad actually made contact with the body!!!!
WHOA! They stopped and fixed one side then started lifting again...WHOA! Do the other side.....ah duh, sorry. I could feel imprints on both sides...what absolute honey badgers. Minimum wage = minimum effort.

Pintsize725 08-09-2014 04:04 PM

Luckily the manager of the shop and I are on good terms. I didn't check if any damage was done under when they tried to use the lift but it's because I'm feeling sick. I'll check out in a few and take it back Monday if needed. They did do the balance using jacks to lift the car at least.

kenchan 08-09-2014 04:05 PM

bled brakes.

Pintsize725 08-09-2014 04:16 PM

So they said the wheels were in balance but i still have a tiny bit of vibration at highway speed. Can warped rotors cause this? I know I have vibration under braking.

Pintsize725 08-09-2014 05:02 PM

Oh these assh@ts.....

I'm suddenly running a 265 on my front and a 245 on my rear driver side. No wonder it felt weird as **** when I left.

b15 08-09-2014 05:06 PM

Drove on some back roads to a state park and went hiking with the wife. Was a good day. Car is filthy though, been almost three weeks since I washed her. Covered in dust. Black sucks lol

Baked and opened the headlights for the second time in 3 weeks. Repainted, changed from all black to color matched projector housings and added halos. Also color matched my door handles.

 I last dealt with discount tire about 10 years ago, similar issues with bad product and terrible service. Fortunately a local tire business opened and has been great ever since. I would never go back to a tire business that doesn't even know (and obviously doesn't care) what size tires go on what cars. I hope you are in a position to vote with your wallet! Good luck getting it sorted out. :driving:

They fixed it today after they were technically closed. I got apologized to by the manager and a few techs. I was told that the tech that did it was reprimanded. I just feel bad because he was a young looking kid and was probably just trying to get me out of there quickly since they were so busy.

jlo370z 08-09-2014 07:11 PM

Got a price to get my head lights done, will be getting them painted / halos and demon eyes on the 20th. whoo hoo cant wait

Should have protected her before taking her out! Then the dirt and bugs would fall off.

Where did you go hiking?

Installed these today, also got the ltwt pulley on didn't notice much with the pulley, but with both definitely an improvement

jdsto 08-09-2014 08:39 PM

Did a little sound deadening work today.

Installed DB Link Buzzmat (similar to dynamat) along with a bit of a homedepot mod where I added Roxul safe and sound into the voids.

After buttoning everything back up I am very pleased with the results. The car is noticably quieter and an interesting side effect is that the stereo seems to sound better.

We went to the Toronto Pearson International Airport FESTI custom car show Today.

Won Best of Show, and King of the Show. Below are my winnings, and yes, that is nearly 2L of Vodka in a glass skull.

I have considered those a time or two. What springs are arriving for you? Swifts?

Yep. Bought them Thursday... did not ship till Friday... and they are sitting @ the local ups distribution center. I tried to pick them up.. but they were still in their bulk container =(. Was hoping to install today! Going to have to wait till next weekend.

Do not forget that you probably will not be able to get the rear camber in spec without aftermarket camber arms. I recommend SPL.
