Sorry didn't see this earlier. It does 250 ft-lbs. I got two cans of liquid wrench and doused every single ******* bolt on the front struts with both cans. Going to attack them again tomorrow.

250 ft-lbs is lame if it is half inch drive. My Ingersoll Rand has about 1000ft-lbs in reverse.Which strut bolts are you having difficulty with??

Probably the lower bolts into the steering knuckle. They are usually 12mm in diameter and torqued tight. Add rust and any impact less than 300 ft/lbs will have an issue...;)

i thought it was a little odd he couldnt get them off since the kobalt 1/2 inch impact i just picked up gets them off no problem....but it also is rated at 350 lb/ft

barncobob 02-03-2016 04:36 PM

impacts are ok but if the nut gets rounded ever so slightly its time for cutting

It's the ******* 19mm lower control arm bolt. Blasted the bitches with shitloads of liquid wrench and attacking them again tomorrow.
I'm looking at different impact wrenches now. Not sure if I want to get another pneumatic or to get an electronic one for the convenience. Right now I'm eyeing the Chicago Pneumatic CP7748 or the AIRCAT 1150 . Have any suggestions?

Those were quick jobs that took me an hour. Going to do them again later down the line and make them look like they were factory options ;)

My father and I ******* STOOD on the breaker bar and the bitch wouldn't budge. a total of 400 lbs couldn't get them to budge. So after that ****, I sprayed them with liquid wrench and decided to clean my wheels.

Best wheel cleaner I ever used.

My god so clean. (Black residue on the bottom is from an old wheel weight. I got it off right after the picture)

It's the product of a drunken night on xbox with my friends. I changed my gamertag to that and it just stuck after that.

I've got the mid-range Snap-on Air 1/2" drive impact and a Husky 3 hp compressor. The compressor puts out 150 psi at the impact, so there aren't many bolts I can't get loose using that, PB Blaster or some heat.

Not to be a smart ***, but I'm going to presume you are going 'lefty loosey' correct? I would apply some heat via a MAP gas torch and use a breaker bar that is about 3 to 4 feet long. If your breaker is only 2 foot, you don't have as much torque as you would have with a longer bar (longer lever = torque multiplier).

Stuck bolts are frustrating. :ugh2:

There are actually several products on the market that have a color changing effect as they react with dirty wheels and turn a pretty deep red that can resemble blood as well.

I believe this is Sonax, but Adam's Deep Wheel Cleaner does it also.

I've been fixing cars since I was 16 so yes I was trying to turn it counter clockwise.

I let the liquid wrench sit for 24 hours and I bought an impact gun capable of 700 ft-lbs. Time to break this bitch loose.

I have a 33 gallon compressor capable of 165 psi btw

My clutch dropped to the floor last night, right after a hard run. This sucks, car has 10k on it now and looks like a Z1 CSC elimination kit is in my near future.

The pedal did come back and felt mostly fine after but, it never felt the same again.

:crying:
