Used minty floss. Wasn't liking how the original emblem stood out like a sore thumb on Black Cherry (well more black than cherry in the pics). Aimed to kinda clean things up. If there wasn't that indent I probably would've gone without a emblem/badge period.

got bored and started playing with the spare cluster I have. Just waiting on the carbon fiber tachometer hood now.

Did a 388 mile round trip today to pick this up for my Z. It all fit perfectly in the back with a little room to spare. I just left the false floor and spare tire at home before leaving, and loaded up about 5 good moving blankets.

Installed the VIS Terminator style carbon fiber hood and took her for a spin in the mountains.

Flushed it out some more w/ 5mm spacers up front and 3mm on the rear, replaced a missing hub disk, balanced tires, and wheel alignment. Also found the source of some resonance and vibration that become predominant between 190* and 220* and 3k-4k RPM.

i was comp'd two nights at a casino on the Gulf Coast. Valet parked the car. When we had the car retrieved from garage for a night out on the town, I noticed a 3" ding on passenger door. Security filed a report and we'll see what happens. I feel bad going after the casino after being comp'd our whole stay when a simple PDR for $80 will take care of the problem..... Will probably just decline the settlement...

I'm a little pig-headed about things like this. Just because you were comp'd does not give them the right to damage your car. Two separate things IMO. :twocents:

That's a bummer, but given the cost of body repairs on average these days I can see why they would comp the stay. The wife and I took the Z to Fort Walton for the long weekend. Had a good crowd of 65 family members this year!! I have to say I was pleased by how well the Z traveled on a 4 1/2 hour trip. Gonna step it up a bit and shoot for a 14 hour drive to northern Illinois in the spring! Hope everyone has enjoyed the Holliday!

I was already comp'd the stay BEFORE they dinged the Z.... That's why I'm hesitant to accept whatever settlement they come up with. Also, the casino manager is a good friend.

Mad: Did yo get much rain? It poured in Gulfport and the Z handled well. Rained so hard, it powered off the love bugs!

Personally, I'd be pissed.

If the casino manager is a good friend, he should understand the issue and not have a problem resolving said issue for you on his/their dime.

We drove down last Thursday morning and returned last night late to avoid the mobile Alabama traffic jam today. Didn't see much rain while we were on the road. Managed to time it just right to miss the small storms last night. So now I have to scrape off the love bugs the old fashioned way... Hahaha

He offered to fix it. I guarantee you the $ amount of what he comp'd me far exceed the $ amount to PDR the ding out...

That sucks. I would never valet my Z (or any other car) at any casino in MS. Just observe how those guys drive "fun" cars on any weekend night when they are out of sight of the entrance.

If he offered to fix it, graciously accept his offer. Thank him and let him know how much that means and that you are now much more inclined to continue to give his casino your business because of it. Those guys are pretty competitive, and if you drop a line like "I know such-and-such down the street" would never do that, it will go a long way in your relationship with the casino.

OK. That puts it in a little different light. I would base my decision on whether accepting would influence the subsequent relationship at all. In other words--just do what feels right.

TreeSemdyZee 09-05-2016 03:53 PM

Of course, my first mental picture when I read this was of the scene in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" when the parking attendants took out the Ferrari.
