Fuckin big a$$ scratch behind the front passenger wheel from some yard debris sticking out into a narrow road around a blind corner this weekend

And this morning, some idiot two lanes to my right decides he needs to turn left suddenly at 60 mph. There was no one else around us and his left turn lane didn't even begin until a few hundred yards up the road. Thankfully, I saw his initial movement in my peripheral vision as I was about to pass him. I barely had enough time to avoid him with probably about the most extreme maneuver I've ever had to make. Aggressive braking plus a sharp left sent me mostly through the 8' wide shoulder. I ended up with both rear tires and my front driver tire off the road sliding sideways on a very slight grassy embankment before I slowed down enough to comfortably to reenter the roadway just before his left turn lane started.

That's the second time some idiot has run me off the road, both times in the Z. It's also the second time they've driven off as his left turn light was green :wtf: :gtfo2:

No harm no foul I guess :icon14: :shakes head: I cooled off on the empty toll road for a good distance at 100 mph :driving:

Back to the stealership for AC out. Looks like condenser failed. Warranty repair. That's twice in 5 months (AC and CSC). Think I got a late Friday afternoon car.

Considering these are built in the land of the Rising Sun, I wouldn't think they would have UAW issues....

It's been a busy 2 days. A/S tires and calipers painted VHT Bright Blue yesterday. Handwashed today, cleaned the interior and checked out an irritating "clank" which was , as I thought, nothing more than misplaced tool in the spare tire/jack area.

Good deal. You might want to adjust your tips, though. They look like they're sticking out too much, in my opinion.

On topic, I went ahead and got an alignment even though I'll be putting new tires on soon (it helps that I have a five-year agreement with NTB). I'm sure I was just noticing some after effects from my off road adventure earlier this week. All seems good now

Dbeckwith 09-24-2015 03:14 PM

Not quite today, but in the past week:
Got Pole Position S-04's all around. (Base 18's)

Swapped out 6MT fluid for Amsoil 75w-90 and used Amsoil Series 600 Dot 4 for the clutch.

Took her for a spirited drive today through some back roads, as a break from work. :-)

Did you notice anything different in shifting? Some have said the synthetics smooth it out some. I am waiting to do all the non engine fluids to this winter, with amsoil synthetics. Except brake and clutch to motul.

Yes, definitely smoother shifting after the fluid change. Got rid of a lot of the notchiness I'd felt initially.

I know people have differing opinions about Amsoil, Redline etc; but my pops lived by Amsoil fluids as a long haul truck driver, so I thought I'd keep that going.

I was a horrible Z owner... I did nothing with Belle yesterday. It was a great day and she sat in the garage all day, because her owner had a migraine....:owned:

Better now, so :driving: today!!!!!!

JARblue 09-25-2015 02:19 PM

Flashing air bag light on the instrument panel this morning. The car is 2011 daily driven with 70K miles. No recent interior modifications that would have triggered it. I tried the reset procedure several times to no avail. Tried several code readers from basic to fairly advanced with no codes thrown (no surprise there). Open to suggestions before I have to take to the dealer :ugh2:

Totally random then. Haven't had a passenger sit in the seat since last Saturday.

Mine did something similar. Was having issues getting it latched, and passenger air bag off light was lit up when my wife was sitting in the seat. I sprayed a bit of electronics cleaner into the seat belt and it seemed to smooth out the button and fix the air bag light issue.

Hi fellow enthusiasts,

New to the forum. Bought a 2012 vert sport 7AT, black, last month. I've wanted a Z ever since I was 16 in 1995 and my uncle bought a 300zx. I still drool over that car and think it's the most beautiful non exotic ever made.

So today I installed the Sprint Booster. Please no hate mail :) I realize it's not a performance mod but I love almost everything about the Z except the road noise with the top up and the delayed throttle response. The SB completely "fixed" the throttle. It's near perfect now.

I absolutely love this car. It's definitely the best car I've ever owned and most fun. I did have a really nice Acura CL Type S for a while that was more practical and still pretty quick. No Z though.

kenchan 09-26-2015 12:19 PM
