Yep. I've had lots of luck with dealerships/service, but Nissan themselves have lost me as a customer due to their cutting corners and putting the burden and cost of that land squarely on the people that should be their brand ambassadors for Nissan.

To answer your question. Nissan has pissed me off a little with how they respond to warranty claims on prone-to-fail OEM parts like the ESCL and CSC. But obviously not as much as you. I would never trade my Z for a Mustang
Sorry to hear that. I had the same issue (as you probably remember from my posts last week). I'm working with the Nissan Exectuve Consumer Affairs team right now to see if there is something they could do. It's been a fight just to get to that level however, as the regional consumer affairs and their supervisor basically botched my case and didn't look into what they were oringally supposed to, which was reimbursement for the steering wheel lock.

The dealers are their own entities, and customer service can vary to great extremes regardless of the car manufacturer. One of the Nissan dealers in town did service on my Z without my permission and then tried to charge me for it. I'm not blaming Nissan for that; it was the idiot service manager at that particular dealer not listening to his customer. Having a trustworthy dealer or not would impact my decision to purchase that particular car make, but not in the case of the Z, as I made the decision to do my own work on the car.
Bingo. As I mentioned above and in other posts, Nissan dealerships aren't owned by Nissan. Nissan should be informed if you are having issues with their dealerships, but they are not one and the same. Nissan is the one that has let down a lot of us. A bad dealership experience still sucks, but you can usually find another service department to take care of you.
