Kind of a douchey response. I wasn't asking if I should trade my car I'm a part of a community and I wanted input from that community on something of relevance. Just tapping into the experience of others on a car I've driven but never owned. Judging by most of the responses It was a valid topic of conversation. It was my like some ppl that post "hey u guys think I should buy a Gtr I make lots of money and I want one"....where everyone knows exactly what they're gonna do they just want a response.

The Mustang GT was about my fifth choice for a car to replace my Lincoln LS that my daughter wanted for her high school graduation present.(370 was first but I'm too tall) I went to look at one at the dealership where my wife works and left with a G37 coupe. The build quality of the Infiniti and my wifes 370Z is leaps and bounds better than any Ford product. If you need a backseat you should seriously consider a G37, coupe or sedan. The GT I looked at was a '12 with 5.xxx miles and I could have bought it for 26k without an employee discount.(it hadn't been on the lot long enough) The original sticker was over 39k. I personally wouldn't trade a Nismo for a Mustang, but you can do what you want.

I respect your opinion I really do and the z is one beautiful car and I fell in love with it when I drove it the first time and still love driving it to this day. The Mustang is just a different kind of car altogether...but to say that nissan and the 370z has a better build quality than the mustang is laughable! The reasons? Pick any number of the *CHRONIC* annoying poor quality issues that happen with the z, in case your new to the platform let me list some out for you:

1) Steering lock failure....get a tow
2) CSC failure....get a tow
3) fuel starvation from right hand turns with more than 1/4 tank of gas in a car thats supposed to be made to handle tight....wait for an hour till a truck can bring you gas
4) Annoying hatch squeek from tolerance loostening
5) Limp mode due to oil overheating
6) Axle clicking
7) VLSD which isnt really an LSD after 10k miles
...and more

Is the Z exclusive? yeah. Is it fun to drive? yeah provided it doesn't randomly leave you stranded. Is it built better quality than a mustang? no, no it isn't. Granted all of these issues are fixable, most cost a pretty penny but the z was for sale to the same crowd the mustang 5.0 was available to at around the same price. The reason they are exclusive is because Nissan couldn't sell them. Props to Nissan for making a beautiful car but props to Ford for knowing how to sell one.

Not going to get in a I know more than you do pissing match, but I've been a mechanic for over 30 years.(not a tech there's a difference). Ford has their share of problems too, I replaced an engine in her F150 at 70k miles. Owned it since new, synthetic oil, babied it, and never pulled anything heavier than my race bike on an open trailer. The Ford chinese built 6 speed manual in the GT is a HUGE pos. My G37 has 37XXX miles on it and is solid as a rock and the VLSD works just fine. Drop a line when you get 80k on that GT and let us know how happy you are with it then. I'm not trying to be a d@!k just my 2 cents. I'm done with U.S. Chinese made crap, and if you think Nissan customer service sucks, you're gonna LOVE Ford. One last point, and then I'm going to bounce. My wife worked for the Ford dealer where she bought her truck and she was treated WORSE than a 'regular' customer. The Nissan dealer she works for now has treated her very well when she had any issues with her new Z.(Paint correction and key fob malfunction). An ******* service manager can sour your whole dealership experience. Enjoy the GT if you get it and best of luck.

(Yes, I'm searching! I have a clicking sound coming from the rear driver's side that I can hear at low speeds when I'm near something to reflect it back. Very rhythmic with speed and sounds kinda like a bristle of a rake stuck somewhere, but I can't for the life of me find anything.)

Jack up the rear end and remove wheels. Retorque your Axel nut. If that fixes your issue then that was your problem. U can opt to take it to a dealership and have them 're grease the joints too if u want.

I think it was a very solid question. It seems like OP wants to get away from Nissan and wants to know what some think about the 5.0 mainly because a few members own them. Any car from a Kia to a Bentley can have its fair share of problems. I don't think OP was saying the 5.0 was immune from it's own issues it may or may not have. He just wanted input before making the plunge. Do I think the 5.0 is a great car? Absolutely. Would I ever own one? For my reasons, no. I think it's a much better idea to ask this community because many members have/do own(ed) both.

It wasn't meant to be douche. You must have missed the last half of my post.......
