Well, I was an E-4, a dime a dozen......I was put on TDRL (Temp. Disability Retirement List) and about a year later was called back to active duty for a medical re-evaluation.

The whole eval lasted 5 minutes. Doc says he doesn't see why I shouldn't be allowed back in. He recommends it. Less than 30 days later I get a package from Randolph AFB in Texas.....I was denied. Got $8K and that was the end of my military career.
And your hair has been growing ever since.

Most importantly congratulations for getting accepted to an excellent school. If I had a kid and I could afford it I'd get him a silly car also, so good on your parents for giving you the things you want and deserve.

Three things that will get you through college with your life and your car.

1. No matter how 'straight' you feel, never ever drive the car after you've been drinking. Not even after a sip, better safe than sorry.

2. The car looks fast, magazines say the car is fast, you aren't doing anyone any favors by trying to prove anybody right or wrong. Besides if you're going too fast the girls can't see you flossin'

3. Don't let anyone drive your car, as close as you may feel to the people you associate with in college, no one is that close of a friend. You don't know him/her regardless of how many "I love you man's" or "we're totally gonna graduate and get a place together and be friends forever" you share after a bender.

Other than that, demonstrate the same intelligence and responsibility that got you into BC and you should be just fine. Congrats again!

Congrats on BC, no alcohol while driving, drive slow... so the ladies can see the killer ride, and post some pic's.

That's a lot of power for a 17yro to handle no offense. You'll get the adrenaline for speed and you'll love it because 300hp+ car isn't no ******* joke. That's like hopping on a 1000c bike before starting out on a dirt bike or 250c.

Good luck and be careful because a lot of people have accidents with their first car.

I know this car isn't the best for snow so i will try to find an alternative to get to places in the winter.

Thank you
Very good indeed.......good luck with it. It would be that last thing I buy my kid. Matter of fact my boy has a fairly large pick-up truck, lots of metal around him...which is best till he gains enough experience.

As I recall my first mode of transportation when entering college was a bicycle, which came with 2 flat tires, I complained at first but was cut short when my Dad told me to " appreciate what you get " now get out and work for the replacement inner tubes.

It has served me well all these years.

You're one lucky kid. I suppose you already know about the poor rear visibility. Take extra care when changing lanes. Also consider taking a defensive driving lesson (not racing lessons) and get really comfortable with the car in traffic. Understand the risk of driving a nice car that gets attention. I had one vehicle keyed before by some idiot. And keep reading the forums to increase your knowledge. Jeez, I sound like a responsible adult.

You're very lucky, I had to bust my chops to pay for my first new car! Respect the power while you learn how to handle that Z. Can't wait to see some pics.

Forget the cost of the car. How much does it cost to insure a 370Z driven by a 17-year-old in Boston?

Though I suppose that, as far as the ins co is concerned, the car might be somewhere else being driven by someone else.

There's another 370z owner that's 17 I believe and he's from chicago.

Be careful when driving, you are going to get tempted to "show off" but hold back. I have a very simple rule also, when others are in the car I do not speed, quick turns, etc.
