Hello, I recently got a 370z 09 sports package as a gift need pointers :]

Hello everyone :], i recently got a 09 Sports package 370z as my first car, it was gift from my parents for being first in the family to make it to college (Boston College). Im only 17 years old and i know this is a fast car but i like to take care of things so i will by no means speed with it or anything but can you guys give me few pointers of things i should look out for in the car? I know this car isn't the best for snow so i will try to find an alternative to get to places in the winter.

Thank you

...whoaaaaaaaaaaa, lucky you.

uhhh...search around the forums. one thing though, for your own safety, set your mirrors correctly, or else you'll have a big ol' blind spot to deal with. be careful reversing out of parking spaces....and don't go TOO nuts on the road :D

Leave VDC on 'til your balls drop. :)

j/k. Welcome to the forums! I know what it's like to have a powerful car at that age. I was driving a 13 second GT at 17 and survived it, though I probably should have killed myself a few times. Just BE CAREFUL and don't let the ricer kids at school get to you -- respect the car and it will treat you well.

Congrats!

Damn, you know what I got for going to college? A pat on the back :D
Coincidentally, the same gift I got for turning 16 and graduating high school

Very good indeed.......good luck with it. It would be that last thing I buy my kid. Matter of fact my boy has a fairly large pick-up truck, lots of metal around him...which is best till he gains enough experience.

As I recall my first mode of transportation when entering college was a bicycle, which came with 2 flat tires, I complained at first but was cut short when my Dad told me to " appreciate what you get " now get out and work for the replacement inner tubes.

It has served me well all these years. ;)

I didn't expect much, i was already happy I got accepted since you know I had worked so hard these last years, but two days ago [first day of college] I told my father if he could give me a ride there but he was like "no", to do it myself, he came out and gave me keys, and yea thats how it went :]

shattering alternators really pulled the car to a stop real fast... :ugh2:
sounded really bad too......

You're very lucky, I had to bust my chops to pay for my first new car! Respect the power while you learn how to handle that Z. Can't wait to see some pics.
