I suspect that there was some change to the helper spring or other aspects of clutch pedal geometry somewhere along the way of model-year evolution. I note that there is a huge difference in clutch smoothness, especially the 1st - 2nd gear shift, between my new 2014 Z 6MT and the 2011 Z 6MT that it replaced. Night and day difference in engagement smoothness.
