Default Engine problem - p0300 - Whats the fix?

Help!!!
I just bought a used 2009, MT, sport package, w/ 35000 miles about a month ago.
Started her up one cold morning (about 30 degrees) and the service engine soon light came on immediately.
So i bought a code reader off of Amazon and it read p03000.

I was able to clear the code.
Havent been able to drive it yet cause its been snowing here...
I did let it idle to normal operating temperature and the light didnt come back on.

Should I be worried? What if it comes back on?
Please help.

Code : P0300 may also be accompanied by a 301-312. the number after the 3 indicated the misfiring cylinder

Definition : Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected

Symptom : Check Engine Light Illuminated and engine misfire, may also detect loss of power or hesitation while accelerating

Cause : The engine will set this code when a misfire is repeatedly detected.

Repair : Replace the failed component on that particular cylinder. Most commonly the Coil Pack

Damage if not repaired : Engine damage to the cylinders rings and damage to the catalytic converter from raw fuel not being burned, not to mention the poor performance and fuel mileage.

When you pull the check engine light codes and p0300 pops up you may ask yourself, What do I do now? See if there is an additional code such as p0302. The number that follows the 3 ( 02 in this case) identify's the problem cylinder. So the problem would be in the number 2 cylinder and in most cases can be cured by replacing the coil pack.

I suggest repairing the problem so in the future if your car has an additional problem it can illuminate the check engine light to let you know you need to fix an issue.

I personally would wait for it to come back on one more time. Then if so change all plugs a coil pack on that perticular cylinder.

YMMV, but I bought some MAF cleaner for like 5 bucks from autozone and thoroughly cleaned the MAFs and hot-wires and it has not come on since.

Coil packs....? serious?
i just did some research on what is required to change spark plugs on the 370z and it looks like a pain in the butt.

Do you know if the strut brace needs to be removed, or can the plugs/coil packs be changed with it on?

Try the MAF cleaning first

Yes it had to be removed. Along with throttle bodies and I can't remember if the manifold had to be to. It's not hard. Just some time.

...update...

since erasing the code ive driven about 200 miles and the service engine soon light hasnt come back on.
everything seems perfect/normal.

It was really cold (near single digits) the morning I started it when the SES soon light came on. A fluke???..maybe the Z's dont like super cold temps.

Need to drive longer than 200 miles to really tell. Past 500 miles then you can rest easy.

Correct. Its my understanding that it takes 3 full drive cycles to reset the test.

Coon-azz..
I drove more than 3 driving cycles but the darn code never cleared itself. Everything sounded and operated fine so i cleared it with the code reader tool.

I think that particular code doesnt auto clear...... ? unlike what people say about the Small Emission Leak code.

I had a CEL seemingly every time I went to the track. Not during the event but just before. The first 4 times only. Weird. It was the kind from the gas cap lock. It took awhile but always reset.

OP I hope it goes well for you.
