As much as a wretched hive of villainy and scum as NASIOC is, this is the one thing they consistantly do right. They allow for vendor and parts reviews to be posted, but it's an understood that you make every effort to work things out behind closed doors with the vendor before you publicly shame them. Until recently, there was only one vendor who had been permanantly banned for being shady- Vivid Racing. Funny enough, they're a vendor in good standing here, or at least any negative reviews have been removed.

ive bought stuff from vivid long time ago. transaction was fine.

wasnt any better or worse than other vendors here. most vendors are good until something happens with the product. then they usually just toss you over to the manufacturer as if they had nothing to do with the sale. if the manufacturer is decent, then you will have a happy ending.

so after my various experiences with various vendors, i decided i just go straight to the manufacturer or fabricator (especially for expensive items) as much as possible...cause they are the ones that have the ultimate solution, not the middle man.

It's possible. Hell, John Hennessy found Jesus and now is a swell guy by all accounts. I'll never know because of past transgressions. And if someone complains about getting boned by him after how public his issues were, I'll have no sympathy. Same principle applies to our vendors here. Mistakes happen. Willful fuckings of members shouldn't.

I was just using them as an example of companies that have had their fuckery made public by forums. That's taking care of the community. We need that here. If a vendor completely ***** the bed on a group buy, for example, mods can restrict their ability to generate new business through the forum.

group buys are by far the worst possible thing to get into, IMO. You have to wait until 10000 members commit (pay) then they finally get the ball rolling and you have to wait an extra 10 months for production and shipping and all that stuff.

Personally, not a fan of group buys although I did participate in one and it went flawlessly but that's only because everything was made stateside.

If one had taken the savings the major group buy here that we're all hinting around but not naming, and invested it in the market, you would have made enough money to account for the discount you missed out on and still had leftover money in your pocket.

EVO-R is very poor with responding to PM's or voicemails and trying to return something to them because of mfg flaws in carbon fiber is like pulling teeth.

As a buying tip...forget going directly thru EVO-R and go thru MotorSport Auto (aka theZStore). From my recent major purchases the guys over at TheZStore concurred he is a tough person to contact. The containers coming across the pond to EVO-R are being distributed to theZStore orders. Another reason to buy thru theZstore is that the order will be fullfilled a lot sooner than waiting on EVO-R directly. All of my EVO-R returns thru theZstore were returned with no questions asked and full replacement or refund.

TheZStore FTW https://www.thezstore.com/

btw: good thread !

Password JDM. Rad cooling plates are hit or miss, mostly miss. They just don't fit worth a damn. Then trying to get ahold of someone on the phone, or via email is next to impossible. Getting a refund is difficult/impossible.

I do not recommend anyone purchase from Password JDM.

Plus their "going out of business" bs to drum up sales. Shady bastards.

This is what sucks about owning a niche vehicle. We get a bunch of asshat vendors since we have less places to go for parts.
