OP, must be bad luck, the few that I've met in person have been very friendly and approachable. If you saw them on the road driving, don't take it negatively

I've encountered a handful of Z owners, that yeah are the nicest/most modest people out there (usually meet them at car shows) I'm just talking about these few people that act like I offended them
