Turned out to be the steering unit lock and it was replaced with a revision "D", which even sounds more GTR-like . Picked her up last night at no charge

Turned out to be the steering unit lock and it was replaced with a revision "D", which even sounds more GTR-like
 . Picked her up last night at no charge to me but the bill for the part and labour was $924 taxes in. Thank goodness for a recall and to everyone in this thread and in the others who helped diagnose.I will look into pulling the fuse on the weekend .
