18? According to my math that would save me 60 or so a month in gas. But Insurance raises like 120 for me.

The brz driven with a lead foot still gets upwards of 30. Ill say 26 for fun. That would save me another 50 on top of the 370, and insurance will drop 100 (I'm switching companies soon so that's why the big drop)

The epa has a BRZ at 28 combined, and it needs premium.

Just following along, and I know I'm late and I don't know your financial details...

- don't buy a new car unless you can throw the money at it and not miss it/sweat it. That includes the debt, which as Chuck said, is not good debt. If you can pay ~$600/mo and not feel the pinch, have at it.

- If you don't have a girlfriend and would like a girlfriend, a new car won't compete with having your own home. Unless you plan on uprooting elsewhere, it's not a *bad* idea to get into some good debt. But definitely talk around to anyone you know who's had a property or two. Unless you know what you're getting into, you might end up being very disappointed. Or you might end up taking a big loss and avoiding that idea again. Good debt, but it *is* a commitment.

Anyway, I know the advice is likely not wanted, but a car only fills a certain part of life's desires/needs. Think about the other parts, too. (I should bookmark such advice for my future self!)

If you're looking for noticeable gas savings, a turbo Subaru isn't going to do it for you. Especially if you've got a heavy foot.

Yeah, both of mine guzzled gas like a small block v8. Hell, if you're looking for a fun car that's surprisingly good on gas, look at Vettes.

This is the same dense fucker I was arguing with 30 mind ago about not buying an expensive car, right? Lol. Even c7' used are still 55+. (C6's don't have cylinder deactivation right?) Also, insurance jumps 200 over the mustang for a c6 ( I checked before I bought the stang )

Does financing used make insurance lower than financing new? I never really understood I surance. Thought it was based on your record, price of car, and how fast you can kill yourself in it

All the forums say they get close to 30.

Premium schmemium. That's what I put in now. If you do the math, it's like 2.50 a full up more than regular. That's not gonna break my bank

Yea i know, but how long will it take for them to go up? I figure at least a couple years

Yea I know. Which comes back to that 2005 corolla I don't even want to think about haha.

21 living in so cal with 2 speeding tickets (from 2 years ago a week apart) and clean since then. So yea, my ***** high. I even checked a 2011 carolla for ***** and giggles. It was like 40 cheaper than the brz only. Even liability is a ton. A lot less than full coverage but still over 170 a month if I recall

In the meantime, would swapping out the rear end in the Mustang be an option? It'll save you a couple mpg.

Meh. If I wanted to Dave some bucks I'd refinance it and get it with a lower interest rate if possible
