Amazingly true.

How many folks would just meet an unknown chick and have unprotected sex with her? Yet road brawlers would take on an unknown dude and mix their blood together, risking a pathogen.

I guess it is easier to hit some one successfully than to hit on someone successfully.

Eh, it's always a crapshoot there. If you're using your fists it's because you do not have a reasonable fear of loss of life, so you don't have a lot of the protections of self defense laws. If someone dies under those circumstances, it could get legally iffy. Not to mention civil liability. I'll pass on the fisticuffs unless the other guy agrees to sign a waiver and hold harmless agreement, and we have some grass to fight on. Parking lot concrete is unforgiving.

All of that is assuming it's a one on one altercation. In a world absent of legal repercussions, let's go. If it's me vs. you and all of your friends we have a different situation that fits the definition of "reasonable fear of loss of life" very cleanly.

That being said, I'm not one to advocate using a gun. I've got them, I shoot competitively, carry daily and will not hesitate if my safety or that of my family is threatened. But a lot of people here seem to misunderstand when to use it. If mine comes out it's because I think I'm about to be killed. That's it.

c'mon guys, really? Sounds a bit immature, no? I have to fight in order to be a man? What century are we in right now? I did have some smaller fights back in HS and college, but please, it takes a bigger man to just walk away rather than get into a fist fight and pissing mach, at least I am confident enough about myself to see it's not worth feeling unnecessary pain. Anyway...just my humble opinion, maybe I'm too old for that teeny crap!

My Father, who's now 78, said in the service they'd get to port, all get drunk, and then just fight for the fun of it, he said the best thing was to get your back in a corner and go at it. He said no one would try to kill you, no one pulled a knife, it was just good drunken fun. Crazy.

No one is saying don't walk away.... That is the best thing to do. Fighting can be immature but.... There are situations where someone won't let you walk away. Bully types. And sometimes the best medicine is to kick his fvckin azz... Bullying doesn't happen to kids only. But things like pulling out a gun to a fistfight and verbally arousing a situation to escalate then running away is about the most immature thing you can do and it's unreasonable. Keep ya trap shut and walk away or step into the arena with reasonable force.

I think people who play your card are just deathly afraid to fight and the walk away/mature speech quells your fear by stressing the mature factor of avoiding confrontation. And I don't think it's cowardly to be afraid to fight either... That's not you. That's respectable.... But it's not immature to teach an adult bully a lesson via the fists either. That's the only way bullies learn sometimes. While I agree your method is the best possible solution. I think I'd still rather pop a loudmouth in the mouth and teach him a lesson than shoot him in the face and end his life.

But again. At my age most don't try anymore anyway. I just see a cowardly and casual pattern of conversation on here when it comes to firearms use. Which is way more immature than just duking it out.

The best thing to do is just be respectful and avoid confrontation. With respect as a first rule. You almost never have to worry about raising your fists or shooting people for minor arguments getting outta control.

I don't think this is true at all. I have no problems with the fight itself, it's all of the other consequences it opens me up to. Besides the risk of jail time, there's also the potential loss of my livelihood. Recognizing that if being "bullied" is just words and as good as it would make me feel to shut someone up by knocking his eyes crossed, someone's words should never provoke you to the point where you are putting your life, livlihood or assets at risk. Now if someone puts their hands on you, all of that goes out the window. If you initiate a confrontation by putting your hands on me, I will respond using an appropriate level of force.

I agree with every bit of this.
I worry about this stuff all the time. Drunk driving, reckless driving, assault, any of these things can result in a loss of licenses I need to make a living. If someone wants to fight, yeah, I'll be a "pussy" and walk away. It's not worth risking losing my livelihood.

Not to mention 99% of arguments are not worth fighting over. Unless someone said something out of line about my family I have never felt the urge to physically fight about it.

Now if someone is actively trying to kill me... that's what my Glock is for.

My concern exactly. I have a feeling we're probably talking about the same licenses. Although, from looking at the guys in my office, FINRA doesn't seem to care about your first two DWIs.

I carry a .40 and last time I recall having a crazy **** leave his car amd come at me in the middle of the road I pointed it at his dome. I'm sure he never had that problem again. This was about 2 years back. Silly people. Tricks are for kids.

So many threads on here where guys want to pull out guns for the most minor of issues that people post. It's ridiculous and cowardly in my book. I don't even know how pulling a gun comes up in 90% of these threads.... It sounds cowardly to constantly bring up pulling out a gun every thread there's a stupid level confrontation on the road. It happens a lot on this forum in general and I think there's a lot f people carrying guns that shouldn't. The last thing you need in life is someone paranoid and armed....

I'm just saying if I'm going to waste my time in a minor quibble? I'm not going to pull out a gun on an unarmed shyt talker. Worst case scenario. I'd rather just lay him out I f need be, rather than put him down permanently.

But I don't get into these situations as a man my age.

But you know, road rage itself is dangerous exactly because someone might pull a gun. There was a story a few years back of a guy shooting at a vehicle from his car, and the shooter had an infant in the back seat.

Ppl be crazy on the roads.
