Talking Random questions.

I have googled for some of this information and I could not find a answer.

1. How much is a Nismo engine (new) were could you buy one? I looked on ebay.

2. Does the 2013+ nismo come with a oil cooler? Is it garbage?

3. The dealer here in texas said a Nismo can be ordered in a 7AT is this true? All the pictures I have seen show manual

4. If you are going to add twin turbos later down the road From what I have searched on this forum its better to have a manual for this and not a 7AT.

5. How many miles does it take to break in a new car? I was told on my bike the first 8-12 miles to set the pistion rings and then after that the bike is broke in for the most part.

6. Most people change the oil at 50m 100m 250m 500m to get the metal shaving out from the factory do you need to do this to a new car as well?

7. Is there someone on the forum that I can Call to talk about audio systems and parts. I have a friend that knows audio but he is an *** hole.

Random info. I called state farm in Pasadena texas. They do not care if I remove the air bags from the car I would still be covered. So I can get a aftermarket stearing wheel and be ok.

4. If you are going to add twin turbos later down the road From what I have searched on this forum its better to have a manual for this and not a 7AT. Get the manual or spend a lot of money on the auto

5. How many miles does it take to break in a new car? I was told on my bike the first 8-12 miles to set the pistion rings and then after that the bike is broke in for the most part. The manual says either 1000 or 1200 miles

6. Most people change the oil at 50m 100m 250m 500m to get the metal shaving out from the factory do you need to do this to a new car as well? Most people? I changed mine at 1k, and then the factory intervals until I switched to synthetic and Blackstone labs suggested a different interval.

7. Is there someone on the forum that I can Call to talk about audio systems and parts. I have a friend that knows audio but he is an *** hole. There is a whole sub forum here for audio. Go look in there.

Random info. I called state farm in Pasadena texas. They do not care if I remove the air bags from the car I would still be covered. So I can get a aftermarket stearing wheel and be ok. This is stupid, and not for insurance coverage reasons.

1. AFAIK the engine is the same. Nismo has a different stock tune.

2. Yes. Yes.

3. Your dealer is probably just stupid. Unless it's a new thing, I don't believe you can get Nismo in 7AT.

4. Yes.

5. 1200 miles is the recommended break-in period by Nissan. If you searched, you should have found all sorts of information. The opinions on this vary widely.

6. are you referring to a bike? Just change the oil after the break-in. Then change it at your preferred oil change interval mileage. Again, if you had searched you would have found loads of information and widely varying opinions.

7. BigAudioFan, but do your research before you ask him stupid questions. Unless of course, you're willing to pay him for his time.

You should tell the dealer that if he can order you a 7AT Nismo (not that S-Tune crap, mind you, but a legit Nismo) that you will pay sticker price + whatever mark up he wants.

Hey thanks. I did search for most of this on google. I think I was just using the the wrong key words to bring up what I wanted to know. I got some good replys and some funny ones. I know the engine was the same just that when I looked I could not find the prices of a used 370z engine. googled "price of used 370z engine" and got info on everything but what I wanted.

Thanks for the answers they did help aot. Doing research before I buy. The guy at the dealership is the step son to my step dad. The GM told him he could order the nismo in 7AT. I also searched nismo and oil cooler on google and did not give me the info I wanted. I hate manuals but I guess I could learn it in a car in a few hours. I work offshore on the oil rigs so the drive right now is only 47 miles to the helio port every 3 weeks.

Going to take me a a while to break that bad boy in. Not buying used...ever again on anything.

1. How much is a Nismo engine (new) were could you buy one? I looked on ebay. $16,000-$20,000, they are only for sale on www.nismoengine.com

2. Does the 2013+ nismo come with a oil cooler? Is it garbage? Yes, it is literally made out of recycled garbage

3. The dealer here in texas said a Nismo can be ordered in a 7AT is this true? All the pictures I have seen show manual Nismos come in 7AT, they are only avaible at Nissan of Fantasyland in Texas

4. If you are going to add twin turbos later down the road From what I have searched on this forum its better to have a manual for this and not a 7AT.
Nismo comes with twin turbos when equipped with 7AT

5. How many miles does it take to break in a new car? I was told on my bike the first 8-12 miles to set the pistion rings and then after that the bike is broke in for the most part.
You want to go easy the first 8-12 miles, then its good

6. Most people change the oil at 50m 100m 250m 500m to get the metal shaving out from the factory do you need to do this to a new car as well?
The metal shavings are placed there on purpose from the factory, do not remove them. You want to do a change at 8-12 miles though to flush out the unicorn dust

7. Is there someone on the forum that I can Call to talk about audio systems and parts. I have a friend that knows audio but he is an *** hole.
You can talk to bob, his number is 911, he is not as a**hole so he should be good

That's Why I posted the question here. I did go to the web site. and the manual was the only option. That's why I asked the dealer and when the 2 gave different answers I choose to come here and ask the question.

About the used engine I always wanted something to play with in my spare time and think it would be cool to have a spare to work on build up. But I can not find the prices on new or used 370z engines...again I think I am using the wrong search words.

about the air bags. That I did search this forum for and someone was saying you can save a lot of weight by removing the air bags from the car. If this is true I have no idea. I have a 2000 chev blazer with No a/c so I am not really into cars but when I sat in that 370z a few days ago I want a new car. I also have no regard for my life. air bags no air bags I don't care. I am on my bike more then in my car. no kids/wife/girl friend/ don't party/drink/smoke.

edit

ok guys I get it. stupid questions but I am 33 and never had a new car all hand me downs. Stupid questions but again I have been on bikes for much of my life so I just needed some general info about these cars.

Not sure what words you were using to search, but a quick search for "engine block" brought up these results:

Brand new 0 miles VQ37VHR

VQ37 Long Block

370z engine (longblock) 6k miles

These may be a little old, but it seems that the engine block can sometimes take a long time to sell. The original ad for the first link was dated March 2012, and he was still trying to sell it in July 2013.

See above. If you claim to have searched for information and then post questions that clearly demonstrate you did not search, you're going to need the flame suit I figured I'd be a little helpful, but I don't blame the other guys for their responses.

When ordering my 13Z last May, I personally saw a brand new Nismo Z (body anyway) with and AT shifter inside the car being picked up by it's proud new owner. This guy special ordered it and the salesperson told me he paid north of $60K for it. Like enkei2k said though, I'm not sure what kind of engine was in there.
