i test drove a g37s, audi s5 and c350... none can compare to my 335i. I didn't even consider the 350z (370 wasn't out yet) and i feel the same way about the 370z. Shitty interior, teenager like styling and MAD UBER SYNCHRO REV MATCH for idiots that can't drive. I'll take my bmw over a "z" any day.

Oh and my car made 359rwhp and 361 wtq with $600 in mods. How bout you?
I LIKE the 335i/135i's, but would never own them. Just far to soft for me, even if it is chipped. I am glad you love your car and the power you can gain with a chip is astounding. To each his own, but make mine a Z (at least in a few months make mine a Z).

The ONLY cars to date BMW has I would consider is the E92 M3 and possibly a used Z4M (that car is saweet!). However, the E92 M3 = too much $ for what you get (I don't care about 'status', to me the whole status thing is for people not completely comfortable with who they really are).

That said, BMW is in my top three 'sport/race' car automakers. So, I say all the above as an avid BMW fan; I just would not drive one. Then again the 2014 1 series M may be cool if it stays to what they say it will be - 2900 pounds, 300 HP, twin turbo 4. OH YEAH!!

And, I still cannot quite find what is so horrible about the Z's sounds... Call me crazy, but I kind of like that rough mechnical sound. Remeinds me of a Gundum or a hard core Japanese robot.... Then again: To Each His Own.

Fuel pump problems, transmission problems, over heating problems, I-Drive issues, oil consuming problems, rear main seal leaks, run flat tire problems, etc. etc. etc. Things I don't want to have to deal with in a $40,000 car. But its not suprising as german cars generally don't rank to high on long term reliability tests...

And don't act like your BMWs power is impressive for 2009....Nissan made a 300HP twin turbo 6 cyl too...two actually...20 years ago in 1989.....and the VG30DETT/RB26DETT are much more durable/responsive motors then then one in your much newer BMW.

Just like your last post, its very easy to just make a list of issues without anything to actually backup your claim... like seriously whats a runflat tire problem? bmw doesn't make tires and they come equipped with michelins the last time i checked thats a very reputable tire manufacturer. Thats like saying ford explorers suck b/c the firestone tires were faulty.
To my knowledge there have been no engine failures due to a 370Z overheating....there have been a handful of 335i engine/turbo failures due to overheating. And if you have to ask about the runflat issue just search your BMW forums.

I respect performance whichever forms it comes in, again i was simply stating to someone about bmw's "lack" of performance mods. 400whp is more than what most will need for streetable driving, and the potential is there for much more.
No, this is what you "simply stated":

Again please get off the 370Z forums if this is the kind of crap you're going to post. Nobody hear cares that you drive a BMW...I think I speak for more then just a few of us when I say i'm glad I don't. Never been impressed with BMWs bland styling, bland interiors, bland performance, bland everything, over priced and poor reliability. If you think your cars performance is impressive come take a ride in the 300ZX sitting in my garage

The Z is a sports car...if you want to compare the BMW to something Japanese compare it to an Infiniti.

Let's see, you got 1 post from this point, and uh...it seems to me this catchy title of 370 v. Z4 lured you in?

Do you know what a "Napoleon complex" is? If not, it means you have thin skin and you get bent out of shape from trivial slights. Napoleon used to have those killed who he felt slighted his fragile ego.

OK dude, 370 has "teenager like styling, shitty interior and MAD UBER SYNCHRO REV MATCH for idiots that can't drive"...fine with me. This past weekend, my ex g/f and some of her female friends were over at my house. Anyways, one of my ex's friends asked me what kind of car was in the garage (my 370). I told her, and she immediately starting saying it wasn't as good looking as her b/f's 350Z. I smiled and said something like, "yeah, the 350 is a great car."

I knew it would beat the Evo X just like the Revup Version beat the Evo 9. Very respectable time I must say but off the old Cayman S by a good margin. All in all excellent performance for the dollar period. This is the best Ive seen the 370z look. Really sweet looking especially in motion. That color didnt look bad considering it brown lol.

my wife has a Z4, and no, we don't do the wife swap thing! (unfortunately). It is a nice car though, and we will be doing a Euro delivery on one of the new ones this fall to coincide with oktoberfest. Nothing wrong with liking cars from everywhere!

Well I wouldn't go as far as saying german cars have gone down the crapper, that's a little harsh. I mean BMW isn't made to be a track car and everyone knows that. If you want a great luxury car that turns on a dime and will give you trouble free years as long as you don't abuse it, then you get a BMW. My mom had an E46 330ci convertible and that thing rocked for the street, but I would never take it on the track. Now she has a 335i convertible and it's even more enjoyable to drive. Mercedes however, I can't say the same for. They're quality and reliability have been pretty bad for the last 10 years or so and they love to make innovative stuff that's way to pricey and loves to break. But look at porsche, they're one of the last (if not the last) non-supercar company that has an entire line up of cars that are built for the street and the track but is still made for every day luxury. I wouldn't count out those germans just yet...

Tell that to the owners of brand new 335i whose car stalls cuz their fuel pump fails. And based on what i read, the problem plauges not just 07 or 08 but even 09 model years. 3 years and bmw still can't make a fuel pump that works. Apparently even the redesigned upgrade are still prone to failure. Really inexcusable for such an expensive car. And it has nothing to do with abuse or track use either.

BMWs are good as lease cars, just for fun and showing off. But only a lunatic would really own one beyond the warranty expiration.

I test drove a 335i coupe with stick shift. It was lots of fun. I have to say the engine smoothness and quiteness, low end torque, and the smooth linear clutch and smooth transmisssion shifting were really pleasurable, quite a notch better than the Z. But the inability to cheaply tune them for track use and the horror stories I read about their reliability turned me to the Z.

I was disappointed with the review. They just spent 14 minutes doing drifting in the rain and got no real results in the end. Then he downplayed it pretty badly and ended it abruptly when the Z killed the Z4 on the track. He had NO reason to pick the BMW this time around and frankly his reviews have been less than objective lately since he tries to make them so absurd to try and be funny. The humor is getting really repetitive too.

Is it me...or was his pick of the BMW sarcastic? Even the crowd laughed. Sounds to me like he picked the 370z...just based on that comment.
