BMW makes their cars on a mass produced assembly line too, regardless of what you're salesmen told you

I see the word sports car being thrown around can any of you please enlighten me on what a "sports car" is/means to you and what makes the 370z more of a sports car than a 335i or a 328?

A sports car is a term used to describe a class of automobile, typically of two seats and two doors, with precise handling, brisk acceleration, sharp braking, and attractive aesthetics. A sports car makes trade offs in practical considerations such as passenger space, comfort, and cargo capacity in favor of those traits which enhance the joy of driving it.

The 335i or 328 both attempt to create a more luxury ride, while trying to maintain performance but are first a luxury car. The Z is first a sports car, and second at providing luxury.

Sports car v. Sporting Models

A car may be a sporting automobile without being a sports car. Performance modifications of regular, production cars, such as sport compacts, sports sedans, muscle cars, hot hatches and the like, generally are not considered sports cars, yet share traits common to sports cars. They are sometimes called "sports cars" for marketing purposes for increased advertising and promotional purposes.[2] Performance cars of all configurations are grouped as Sports and Grand tourer cars, or, occasionally, as performance cars.

No, this is what you "simply stated":

Again please get off the 370Z forums if this is the kind of crap you're going to post. Nobody hear cares that you drive a BMW...I think I speak for more then just a few of us when I say i'm glad I don't. Never been impressed with BMWs bland styling, bland interiors, bland performance, bland everything, over priced and poor reliability. If you think your cars performance is impressive come take a ride in the 300ZX sitting in my garage

The Z is a sports car...if you want to compare the BMW to something Japanese compare it to an Infiniti.
Like i said, PLEASE post up some solid info, like links to threads where u read about an n54 blowing up due to over heating. till then your statements have no validity behind them.

I can easily say "YO my boys 370z blew up and he never washed it and his car always gave him problems" which is the only defense most of u idiots can come up with.

At the end of the day i wanted to clear up some misconceptions of ignorant children on the internet. They can go back and stereotype bmw owners based off **** they've heard but at the end of the day my car > 370z. my cars not for status i bought my car because its a new platform with lots of potential and suits my taste in styling. I chose NOT to buy the 370z b/c it doesn't. plain and simple.

By the terms stated above the 335i meets all those criteria and it does better than the 370z. Not to mention the heritage of BMW which has been and will always be being THE ULTIMATE DIVING MACHINE

TurboSid, I understand why you love your BMW, I almost bought one, but why did you come here in the first place?
FR305, but the 335i (coupe) comes first as a luxury car, then a sports car. It is a 2 door car, but with a second row of seats which is not what a sports car is about. It has a solid engine, but it focused first on providing a good stable ride, not about going around a track first. Not saying it can not or is bad, but it is first set of priorities is not that of a sports car.
