Good work gents. I'm going to head out to pick up my lunch. As I drive a 370Z, I will refrain from using the brakes per scope22. They are unnecessary on this car as it is equipped with IRS.

In a year, no one will give a fvckk cuz mustang won't have SRA/LA. It will have IRS. Then you guys will be arguing if Fords new IRS system is up to snuff compared to other performance cars IRS systems? Or will it be 2014 vs 2015 Mustang? Which has the better suspension??? lol. I'll take a front row seat for that one.

And the drag racers will bitch and moan about the IRS, and swap in a solid axle like they did with the cobras. The rest of us will rejoice that ford finally saw the light.

Edit: I just called the owner of the pictured Mustang and he too confirmed he was only touring the 'Ring at 10 mph. The maximum possible speed for a Mustang on anything but a flat surface.

I was scared that I was actually seeing someone dying here. Whew!

Word from FoMoCo has been that they're offering a SRA as an option anyway.

A friend of mine did some track testing of the new chassis some months ago and they had both flavors.

He's a NASCAR development driver, so you can guess which version he preferred...

I hope it's a no cost option??? lol. Imagine paying for an inferior suspension? :stirthepot:

Those discussions are already ongoing. It's a big point of concern that the next-gen Mustang will have crappy IRS.

The old Cobra's IRS was pretty crappy.

Yep, and I'd take the 2012 solid axle over the old Cobra's IRS for most applications, apparently contrary to many folks here.

Yeeeeeah...

That old IRS would take wheel hop to a.. whole... 'notha... level...

Chuck33079 05-29-2013 11:19 AM

Was that gen designed around a solid axle and changed to an IRS? I can see problems popping up if thats the case.

m4a1mustang 05-29-2013 11:20 AM

I successfully picked up my lunch.
