Thats ridiculous.. There has to be someone willing to do it for less. Especially if you say you have a clean record.

You're doing it backwards. Once you go test drive the car, you'll be far more likely to make an emotional decision that gets you on the hook for an unreasonable insurance bill. There will always be other cars.

First year, cost was ~$1500 for 6 months for 370Z Second year, cost is ~$1000 for 6 months for 370Z clean record, defensive driving discount, 28 single male. no change in coverage at all. If you're under 25, good luck. I owned a POS 1995 240sx at 23 and even still insurance was $1400 for 6 months at the STATE MINIMUM. I can only image what a 370Z would be

Tell me about it
For a city that relies mostly on public transportation, I have no idea why it's so expensive to insure a car in New York City.

I had full insurance on my previous car before the Z and when I called to switch cars on my policy with Geico as i no longer owned the previous i got quoted $240 which was way more then i was used to paying on my 3-series, I wasnt liking the price so i decided to shop around, with Esurance they quoted me $773 a month (they mustve thought i bought a ferrari
) so they were automatically off my list. Progressive quoted me $270 a month, Allstate quoted me some where in the $300 range, and state farm quoted me $194, I called Geico back and told them i was dropping them for state farm and told them what i was quoted and the Rep went into this whole apologetic speech and did one of those "let me see what i can do" lines, long behold after about 15 mins and him back and forth with his "supervisor" he comes back and quotes me $168 a month for full insurance (im 23 yrs old no driving record, no accidents) the area i live in is a high accident rate in orlando though..but i was happy with that rate, but makes you wonder how much more people are paying and how much less we all could be paying when they can magically work numbers like that.

Yes. Figure out your total cost of ownership before you get too far into shopping for the car.

I don't always get insurance. But when I do, I prefer USAA. 24 hour live customer service, easy to navigate iPhone/Android App, flexible plans that can be changed on-the-fly...
27 yr old male Location - North Dakota (people suck *** driving here, no nonsense) Never been in an accident $500 deductable I pay $195 a month because I claimed ALL of my aftermarket ****. I'm straight forward with them everytime I add ANYTHING new. |
