Who Do You Insure Through

Just Curious, going to see the car maybe this week or next week, last thing on my agenda for the car is insurance. im probably looking at 400+ monthly with the addition of the Z. 22 years of age will be insured under my parents. Any insurers you would recommend? Any known to give a cheap monthly payment for two door coupes? last things i need to work out before i sign papers.
Thanks for the help

I have State Farm, 23, no accidents (kinda), totaled a car last year, speeding ticket on my record and I pay $140/month ;-)
Yes, a LOT of people hate me for that

i got Erie insurance. 26 no accidents and mine is like $90-100 a month and only $100 deductible

edit: i have full coverage. everything you can think of is covered.

LOL, yes, single insurer. No parents. I really don't know what or how, all I know is that when I looked for insurance about two and half years ago I called 30+ places including some State Farms, and I was getting quotes of $300+ across the board (21, 2009 Maxima) until I called this random State Farm and they quoted me $140~/month and I asked them if their system was broken.

But I have full coverage, no sneaky crap, and now I have my deductible at $250, and rental coverage at $35/day and something else that I upgraded...

so the idea here is to call individual offices and see what i can get?

I have Geico. Used to have Progressive.

Shop around the major insurance companies' websites.

i got the same agent as my parents but i'm on my own. i do put my Z on "lay up" for dec-march since i dont drive it in winter and put my tahoe on instead. Z is still fully insured for that period as long as it's on my property.

kenchan 05-07-2013 01:32 PM

forgot to post price.... my insurance is under leisure car coverage and paying no more than 285-290 for 6months.

DEpointfive0 05-07-2013 01:42 PM

You know what... I lied... Just recently...they upped my insurance to $170 a month due to a second ticket. So what I did was lie and I told them that my car is a weekend driver, and god bless them, they don't ask about mileage

insurance premiums vary depending on a number of factors including location (state), deductible, coverage, yearly mileage, age, driving history, etc.

just stating your insurance co. and monthly premium doesn't give enough to compare by.
