Should I be mad?

I'd be pretty cheesed.

Every time I drop my car off for a service, no matter where it is, I take a picture of the odometer, gas gauge, and mpg meter. So far I've had no issues, but if I ever do I'll have proof.

The Nav test is feasible, but I doubt it. Did they tell you what it entailed? I would think it would just be a map update, and I don't think they'd be able to confirm its validity in four miles (given that most car dealerships I've seen aren't located in new housing developments or along reconstructed highways).

It was some type of recall...not sure what they did to the Nav. Just said it was an update.

I kind figured the majority of answers would be either...

1. I would be pissed if they drove my car .4 miles.

or

2. I'm surprised someone took the chance of being spotted in a roadster for 4 miles. Hope you have tinted windows op.

Nobody brought up the fact that they used approx. 92 cents worth of gas...give or take, and that's if they drove as if there was an eggshell under the gas petal!

I wouldn't worry about 4 miles at all. Easy enough to check if you really need new tires or if they were just trying to sell you something.

If in 4 miles of REALLY hard driving your car is damaged... Fúck, you bought the wrong car... Or an RX7

Testing an engine swap is a valid reason....test drive for a steering lock, not so much.

Something similar happened to me yesterday to replace the steering lock.

4 miles isn't really a big deal if they had a valid reason and they had your permission. I certainly didn't give permission, so I'm a little pissed of they did so without my knowledge. There is absolutely no reason a test drive is necessary when fixing the steering lock. Plenty of engines blow up going a 1/4 mile....
