Here's what I was told by the 2 sales people, 1 might have been pushing to sell the 7At perhaps because it cost more, and another who didnt have a 7MT and wanted to push the 6MT at the Nissan dealership.
Reasons to get an 7At: Clutch and clucth assembly is not covered warrantee. If you end up burning your cluth by accident, you will end up forking out some serious $$ to replace it. while a 7At is covered by the warrantee and in case of problems, it is replaceable with no cost to you. Reason to get a 6MT: Power with a 7AT is rated about 30% less than in a 6MT. Does any of this make sense to any of you? I know I wasnt convinced. |

I'm old school. Sports cars, to be driven in manual. This is my personal opinion and I acknowledge others have theirs. However, you should drive a car that you own because it makes you smile when you are in it. If you are in an automatic with those paddle shifters and you enjoy it and it makes you smile when you drive it, then thats it for you. If you enjoy shifting the gears and feeling the car respond when you shift and having the control over it, go for the manual. Keep in mind for me my 370Z is not my everday commuter car. My commuter is a five speed manual and although I hate it when I'm in stop and go rush hour, I still enjoy the feeling when I drive a manual for my own personal reasons. In the end game, its what makes you enjoy getting into the car each time you drive.

How on earth would this thread make you decide? I dont even understand how its a hard choice. Most people know if they want a manual or an auto and if they dont, they drive them and then decide.

I am already torn between the two. I know the upsides and downsides to both transmissions. This thread is not making me decide...... This thread is causing the inner voices and 'camps' to battle within. I have my reasons for wanting an MT, but I can counter them with reasons I want the AT. I keep reading the back and forth in this thread and neither voice within is silent; they are louder. I hope that helps answer your question. If not, then I can explain it in no other way. Sorry. |
