manufacture date ranges for steering lock failure?

FYI, my car falls under the 2011 category but my dealership already removed the steering lock fuse. This tells us 2 things:
1) pulling the fuse is how the dealership prevents the problem (not cutting the wire)
2) you may or may not have to perform this yourself, but check just in case.

I bought my car brand new btw.
