oh and i want some luxuries like a sunroof, leather seats, and something i can take off road occasionally(i have had to take my Z off road before for work and it is probably one of the scariest things i have done)

honestly i wish i could afford paying 2 car payments but at 19 i cant
if i bought outright thats another story but then im looking at older cars, and realistically i could afford a honda civic or something but i dont want a honda

if i could keep my Z i would turn it into a 100% track car but unfortunately its either keep it and start to hate the car slowly(like the blind spots are getting on my nerves and i hate the ride quality, its just too stiff for street driving), or sell it and get something better suited for DD
08' 335i, done.

understand the feeling for a period of time, I was always trading out cars every 2 years, it wasn't until the last 8 that I settled down.

go for something fun and you like, as long as you drive that hard too

its like james may said, the fun begins when the grip starts to end

well i love the look of the old 2G eclipse, heck i use to own a 2G GST before i bought my Z, plus its AWD turbo and it uses the same engine as the EVO 8 and 9
Two things

1- turn your VDC off and try to drive it, better yet get a real tune to disable the brake booster which also prevents you from doing a stand still burn out!

2- stop driving like grandma the Z is a great drive

The Z is TOO grippy? What do you think an Evo or STi are going to be? I like both cars, but if someone were to ask for a straight up trade for my Z? Hell no. I like the Z for everything that it is...however, if you're bored I say go for an STi or Evo. A GSX will probably be more trouble than it's worth.

I've driven the AWD version. I like a lot.
THIS
i test drove a juke today and it was fun, a bit too high for my taste but nothing some coilovers couldnt fix
i only wish it came in a manual AWD, the CVT is nice, but i love driving manual too much lol

interior is something i dont really care about, but after reading about ringland issues with the new WRX/STi, subaru is officially off my list and in my experience my old DSM was reliable, just have to keep up with maintenance thats all plus the EVO(except the EVO X) uses the same engine as the turbo eclipse does(4G63T FTW)

dude were u high when u made this
the Z is only fun when being taken to high speeds around curvy roads or on a track, if i went to the track often i wouldnt be complaining but i dont and honestly i want a car thats a fun street car
just driving my brothers turbo eclipse(my old DSM) is a blast around town and im not sure why it is like that but its just more fun then driving the Z around

i would never straight up trade my Z for an Evo, i would sell it and use the money to buy an Evo(seeing as Evo 9s are about 18K used)
i use to own a DSM so i know what it entails but if taken care of properly, they can be just as reliable as nissans can

Coilovers drop it 3". FWD manual only does suck

Dude the z is fun even on the street. Main problem is. to make it fun, you waist gas driving around cruising at 3500-4000rpm

Evo's are fun too. Dude keep the Z though. Pay it off or see what the Z35 brings. Or pay it off then add a juke.

90% of the time Subaru ringland failures are caused by people slapping an intake and/or exhaust on the car without tuning for it. If you're ok with 325-350 whp, go with the Subaru. It'll run forever with a good tune. If you plan on going bigger, get the Evo or plan on building a motor.

i hear that a tune can prevent ringland failures but i have read cases about it happening to 100% stock cars and how subaru went to great lengths to research the owners interests(the one story that stood out to me the most was that subaru denied a warranty claim for ringland failures on a 100% stock car all because the owner liked to watch the rallycross X Games event and he "might" have over reved it to cause the failure) plus the only way to avoid ringland failures is to go aftermarket and if you do that, your warranty is as good as gone

not that Mitsubishi's warranty is any better but i would rather have a lack of warranty then having warranty but being denied a claim all because the manufacture things you "might" have done something

@KenChan
my definition of good money probably isnt the same as your definition of good money, im making good money for a 19 year old(about 3k/month) and right now most of that money is being dumped into insurance($2500/6 months) for my car, car payments(about $600) and rent(about $1200)
the rest goes into eating, gas, and other misc items
i dont really have any extra money to spend so another car payment isnt out of the question if i get a turbo 4banger, i can buy outright but im not going to buy a honda or some other cheap beater car/rice rocket(which is all i can really afford to buy outright) and on top of it have insurance go up on me...

please dont say what i can and cant afford without knowing my financial situation first, its kind of rude...

@everyone else, i appreciate your opinions on the matter, i know this is a Z forum so i expect everyone to be bias towards the Z(heck i am bias sometimes as well) but i also want some real opinions on the matter
thanks

You are making the classic younger person mistake of car hopping. Even if you hop to a cheaper car, you won't be happy and hop again. You are making peanuts for living in the San Diego area, so take some advice and think really hard about the financial impact of your decisions.
