this is quite true. I drove 370z Nismo to work for about 5 months. the male co-workers liked the car. Only one female co-worker ever told me she liked the car.

then I stopped driving the 370z and got a New Beetle for daily commute. Five or six women told me they liked that New Beetle

The only attention the car gets is usually other dudes.

For the most part, I think you're right, although I've received compliments from people of both genders.

Generalizing here, most women don't care enough about performance cars or driving to even know how special a Z is, and most men care only enough to know what a Z is. Every once in a while, you get an enthusiast of either gender who recognizes and enjoys the car enough to compliment it. But you also get compliments from non-enthusiasts who just recognize that it's a nice car.

I get way more female VERBAL compliments on the car than men. But, men tend to stare at the car more like they really like it.

The funny part is the new Beetle was redesigned to be manly with it's new NAZI helmet design. lol.

Honestly, the Z is at another level than those cars and much more fun. also RWD seems more fun for someone that doesnt track as opposed to AWD. i think what you enjoy is the fact that those cars are boosted.
To each there own, but id rather Boost the nismo, and have a faster much more unique car that you dont see every day. Nothing interesting about another evo or sti on the road. but a boostted nismo besides, your young. you dont need back seats lol.

either way, best of luck on your decision, but i will say from experience that my Z gets more than my friends evo, which is much more modified.
its a Z forum, of course were biased lol

A couple of other 4 bangers not mentioned are the Mazda Machspeed 3 and Genesis Coupe. The Genesis comes in turbo and has a decent interior. Hell, if you want cheap you can go with a Neon SRT 4. They cheap to mod and go like mad! Good luck on your journey!

in all honesty i love my Z but im bored of it, i was thinking about either getting an EVO 8/9, GSX Eclipse, Subaru WRX/STI hatchback, Juke AWD, or if nissan releases a Silvia S16 i would want that as well

any other cars you guys would recommend? im looking like 4banger turbo, preferably AWD or RWD, im not a fan of FWD
i went to Subaru dealer to order a WRX limited because I needed a sedan to drive my friends/relatives around on the weekend. the sales guy told me the order time would be about 16 weeks. This is my 3rd week into it

for me, the dealer made it come true.

I brought my 370z nismo in for service and later that week, the dealer called me and asked me if I would be interested in selling them the car.

they offered me $12k less than the price i had paid for the car. I had the car for 3 years so $12k/36 = $333/mo loss. For me it was reasonable -- had I leased a 370z nismo, the cost per month would probably be higher, so I took their offer.

about the 370z nismo.
it looks fantastic and is very quick but the ride is too harsh for me. The roads where I live aren't too good. also the stock stereo on the 2010 is pretty poor and there's no factory NAV.

those are my likes and dislikes.

It's really not subarus fault. They had to get the emissions down somehow. I blame the government.

for me the coolest things about the VW Beetle are the insurance rate is very low and you have the confidence that no guys would want to steal anything from it.

Let's say you had to park your Z outside overnight, there is a chance that some bad guys might steal your tires/rims. With the Beetle, you don't have to worry about that :-)

Pistons are one thing, rings are another. The pistons have nothing to do with poor ring quality. And yes, since this platform has been in use, it has been a problem

Source please?

The problem has only been common in the EJ257, mostly as a result of the hypereteutic pistons.

If you think piston construction doesn't have anything to do with these failures, you should do some more research as to what a ringland is.

Every STI I've seen that has run into ringland issues has had all the telltale signs of detonation prior to issues, with an owner too hard-headed to fix the root cause.
