true story, I had a flat on a Sunday so i stopped at sams club and asked them to repair it. they wouldn't fix it because it wasn't one of theirs. So i asked them if i could buy 1 tire from them, they told me the only sold them in pairs. so i said sell me two tires then, so they looked it up and they then told me they didnt have my size in stock. this took about an hour to accomplish. nothing to do with your issue but this reminded me of my experience with sams fabulous tire service! (no this was not for my Z, i wouldnt let them near my z )

regardless of the shop, and how much I trust them, I never bring the wheels and tires on my car, always carry them in loose and install them myself at home.

Going to have pursue the managment. I also noticed i had roughly 12 miles less range than when I left the car. It also took an hour longer than the original estimated 1.5 hour wait. The mechanic also said "Car's got quite the kick to it!" when I picked it up.

Had my integra at a shop once and learned my lesson. They didnt have a jack low enough to get under the car. I stood about 10' away watching them, not even through a window. Retard 1 stands by my fornt fender, Retard 2 stands ready with the jack. I am thinking to myself they honestly arent about to do what I think they are. Sure as ****, Retard 1 lifts up while Retard 2 tries to slide the jack under. I am like WTF ARE YOU DOING? They proceed to tell me that they do this all the time and nothing will happen. Before I have the chance to tell them to get their ******* hands away from my car he lifts again and creases my fender!!!

I blow a gasket right there in the bay. I yell for the manager to get out here and tell him WTF they just did. I was SUPER PISSED BRAH!!!! He ends up sending me across the street to a well known body shop and comps a new fender plus spray. Even he couldnt believe what they did. I even stated at the begining that they more than likely would need a small peice of wood under each front to get any of theirs jack under it since non were low pros.

Sorry to hear this. Reminds me of the two parking lot attendants from the movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

As far as WalMart goes, I've interacted with employees at Walmart and question the quality of their hires or the training they provide. They probably have the same practice when they hire their techs. I've been to many WalMarts and have not been impressed by their people in general.

Thanks for sharing your bad experience with the rest of us.

And why? Why would Walmart help you upgrade your car? Best case is they will have it repaired. The whole idea of the legal system is to put you back to the same position as before.

So you're possibly going to dump $300-$400 per hour in legal fees to go after them for a bumper that's $1k max to replace? Best bet is to gently plead your case with management.

You failed by not inspecting the car very good when they were finished. Good luck to you though.

I didn't read most of this, but I saw the pic in the first post. That sucks, man. I'd be livid.

I have to agree with most other people on this post -- I would not let Walmart do work on my Z. I had them plug a leaking tire on my wife's CRV (figured there wasnt a whole lot they could do to mess that up).

With that being said, I realize there is a large spectrum of people on this Forum with different income levels. Also the Z is a different car to different people -- some people totally modify it and race it only at the track on weekends -- some people use it as their daily driver. With low profile tires like the Z has it just makes sense to spend a few extra bucks to take it to a place that knows if they have to tools to do the install without damage.

Keep us updated on the status of how Wal Mart treats you and best of luck.

I'm meeting with the store manager today after work.

It's tire mounting, not brain surgery. And to return my car to the way it was wit would require a new bumper not a repaired one.

Just be ready to counter the BS that might be brought up about the age of the car , prexisting damage , and if they were ppl with you that can support your claims. Be prepared to do battle, because your in for a fight, just read Walmarts strict return policies on some of their items and you will see what I mean.

You could also tell them you intend on posting a video online about what happened to your car in the service department etc.

That's like someone dropping off your daughter after prom and saying she was very experienced.
I would bust out the shotgun.. Jk of course.
Every time I take my car in for anything everywhere, I take a photograph of the millage (to the decimal point), ask if the car will need to be driven or not (in writing) and tape a typed paper on the steering wheel saying 'please call 555-1234 before driving the car more than 0.1 miles'. I suggest you do the same! And never leave your car overnight at somewhere like Walmart, bestbuy, clear bra place, or anything other than real dealer or someone you trust.

Seriously? Wal-Mart?

Looks like an expensive lesson learned.

God I hate Walmart! I like to take mine to Discount Tire and tell them my expectations up front and show them that the wheels are in excellent condition. I also like the fact that you can walk into the bays and talk to the techs. Your vehicle is always in sight as well. Anyway sorry about your situation.
