that's what i'm thinking. i got in touch with corporate, and they are surprised and will have the store manager get in touch with me. maybe i can talk them into buying me an aftermarket bumper, and just repair my current stock bumper.

And why? Why would Walmart help you upgrade your car? Best case is they will have it repaired. The whole idea of the legal system is to put you back to the same position as before.

So you're possibly going to dump $300-$400 per hour in legal fees to go after them for a bumper that's $1k max to replace? Best bet is to gently plead your case with management.

You failed by not inspecting the car very good when they were finished. Good luck to you though.

Better try again on that $1K....My car was hit a month ago by trash flying out of a city truck. It only put a small dent in the bumper and I just got a check for $1,000. With paint, patch etc. he's looking at least $2000.

Ok, $2k. I'm not an insurance estimator my friend. Of course, a new bumper cover is only $300 from Nissan and painting is likely $500-$700 depending on where you have it done. I'm still likely wrong right?

Still pointless to hire a lawyer for something like this.

The other guy said millions, you won't even get 1% of that. Get your damages fixed and be happy.

You can fix the bumper with epoxy made for plastic bumper repair , but it will never be the same, you need to ruffen up both sides of the bumper and place a small piece of flat in metal across the back of it and fill it in on both sides. Then leave a lot of epoxy on the back to act as a brace.

Make sure you get a completly new bumper and complete paint and installation for your damages.

Also I can see the store trying to say the damage was prexisting as the car is 4 yrs. old

You may want to get the car upon a lift and check for other damage, it looks like it was done on a parking barrier or possibly the lift they used.

Seriously? Wal-Mart?

Looks like an expensive lesson learned.

God I hate Walmart! I like to take mine to Discount Tire and tell them my expectations up front and show them that the wheels are in excellent condition. I also like the fact that you can walk into the bays and talk to the techs. Your vehicle is always in sight as well. Anyway sorry about your situation.
