Any Sport Package Owners Wish They Bought the Nismo Instead?

Sport Pkg is more than enough. The Nismo is nice but the marginal performance difference does not in any way make Sport pkg less of a sportscar.

If the NISMO was actually track day ready, like having an oil cooler, brake ducts, non-viscous LSD, etc. then yes. As it is, there's not enough to justify it for me.

Had the nismo been made available with Nav (like they do in Canada) and leather seats, I'd be driving one right now. Their loss not mine.

Nismo is not available in Canada period. Maybe it was for one year.

If I buy a Nismo, I would ended up in SK1 classes in auto-x to compete again z4, m coupes, and newer corvets.

I have 370z w/ sport pkg, ended up in SK2 going against S2k, RX8, and older M coupes as my most difficult rival cars.

Other than that, I fell in love with my 40th anniversary w/ rims and red interior/trims. Reminds me of the my old 280zx. I also liked the front and rear bumpers over the nismo (I thought the fangs look good).

I have the Nismo and I have gone up against the z4 and the new m coupes and destroyed them. Corvette not yet, but with my tire upgrade to r spec. I am sure I can take out a few vetts at the track with ease.

Since I have both 370z sport and Nismo. I can tell you that I would rather have a vehicle tuned and built by the people who build the GTR the the 370z off the regular line.

The harder I push the nismo the better it responds. The faster I go the better it handles. Braking from high speeds is intense. I know both have the same brakes, but the Nismo seems to brake much better from high speeds 100+

Sure you can buy upgrades and bolt the on like, coil overs, sway bars, springs and other. Yet you don't have any of it tuned. It is just a mix of different parts designed with performance in mind not tested and tuned at a track for the best handling by the people design and build the GTR for the whole package.

It's like Jeremy says on TopGear when you buy a sports car buy it and use it to the limits buy the best performance model they make, because you will regret not getting it later when someone pulls up to you at a light or track and smokes you. If you plan to drive sports car like a spanner then get ford mondeo.

on mods: Unless you have a racing team that can fine tune all the adjustments and changes upgrades made by upgrades you are just wasting your money. The more fiddly bits the more experience it will take adjust it just the way you need it.

The Nismo was made to take to the track and enjoy with a versatile tune and handling package setup for a array of performance, aero, engine, chassis, and suspension. Also handle the city roads with ease.

I am glad that you love your Nismo, and you should. The track ready bit, is why all the car magazines hate the brakes therefore the 370Z.

Because no reputable company does the research and development to tune their product to the car they're making it for.

Heavy modding, so sport package for me.

plus, the Amuse body kit is way nicer than the nismo.

I really like the Nismo wheels, if the Nismo came in "tjlaser" M-blue ... then I would have gotten the Nismo over the SportsPackage.

p.s.
When I originally went to my local dealer (Feb 2012) the Sports / touring was $42k (black) while they had 2 Nismos on the lot for $38k (1 silver & 1 black).
I would have bought the silver Nismo over the other 2, but I ended up finding my M-blue Sports 2009 with less than 7000 miles for under $28k out of state.

I really wanted a Blue 370Z... to replace my Blue 300z

I was next to a Red nismo at the gas station yesterday, and it was absolutely gorgeous. Kind of made me have buyers remorse (I just picked up a 2011 Touring w/ sport 6mt 5k miles two months ago)- till I looked inside. I dig the Nismo bits, but having driven 2 s2000's a majority of the last decade, I was ready for some comfort, which my touring has in spades. My recommendation for the OP, if he is looking, is to try to find a touring w/sport pkg lightly used. Check on autotrader, their are tons of 2011/2012's with less then 5k miles, that you can get cheaper then a brand new base, depending on the dealership. Nismo's are sweet, dont get me wrong, but leather+suede, a decent stereo stock, power+heated seats, bluetooth- they are things people say they dont want, but I love em.

(sorry OP, just saw you have a PW nismo... my favorite color!)

Yeah I added an Alpine navi radio with 7" screen, bluetooth, pandora, HD radio. Infinity Kappa components 6/1/2 front 3.5 rear. Ultra light weight Kappa5 amp and Kappa 10" sub in the rear all hidden so it looks stock except head unit. Cost $1000 installed myself.

Seats and side panels leather and microseuade $650 with lifetime warranty.

So not much and you can have more electronics and comfort than the touring and I can watch movies listen to music and actually hear it while driving.

I like the look of the Sport model and I like my own audio and I like my own Exhaust, I think I proved your point

No, but I do wish the Nismo had everything the touring had. If it did at my time of purchase I would have gone with it.
