I just went to the shop this am to pick up the Z.

The top is brand new, what they have done is besides replacing the top, they also wrap some portion of the frame with Teflon tape, they do did to see if less friction Teflon tape will solve the rubbing issue.

We will see how long the rag-top can stand this time(hopefully forever).

The service manager already booked me an appointment to discuss how should I file a case to Nissan Canada regarding this issue, thus we try to have a guarantee from Nissan Canada to have coverage/service on this issue even after the warranty is expired.

Couple pictures that was taken last week with the rag-top taken off. You can see the silver part/frame, which cause the rubbing...

My Z weekend

This past week I purchased a bright silver 2009 Touring with 16,000 miles. This will be a garage queen like my previous "toy cars". I will put it away for the winter.

This weekend:

Disabled steering wheel lock.
Washed car and removed old wax.
Compounded hood (didn't have a clay bar)
Made a plug so I can plug in my battery maintainer.
3 coats of Zaino. (more to come)
Checked and torqued all lugs. (most needed a 3' bar to break them)
Installed cabin air filter.
Ordered wheel locks.

Then, I went for a ride and "jumped on it" to the red line several times thru 1st and 2nd gears. What fun !!!
What a great car. What a great forum.

I successfully navigated two speed traps with radar and laser using the WAZE and my passport 9500. Colorado is not the drivers Paradise you would think from playing the Forza horizon game. I only drove about 20 miles.

My theory is that all the speed trap police have a monthly quota so get really aggressive near the end of the month.

Anyhow the Z has plenty of braking when my detectors begin to squeal at me. :)

Just ordered the 9500ix myself (upgrading from a 9yo 8500). Do you have to have the subscription to get the speedcam warnings, or is it specifically to keep the device updated with new ones, etc.?

Booked a appointment for an alignment and a retune for my headers come Friday. Going to be a great day.

Thanks to Forged Performance for coming through for me on my tune even though they are booked everyday for the rest of the year.

I never subscribed. So really don't know. I think you might get one update with purchase, but I never hooked mine up. I use an app (WAZE) to keep me clear of cameras and such.

Put the inside back in after installing phunk's fuel pump.
