Hey everyone,
Here's a thread where you post a picture or update or story or info on what you did to your Z today. All the replies must be on topic here. There are some member who want to keep a "on topic" thread on this topic and don't want to scroll though a lot of unrelated replies. If you're one of members, you are more than welcome to participate in this thread. However, if you want to carry on the same topic with other stuff , please post in this thread: http://www.the370z.com/lounge-off-to...ay-thread.html

I'll start this thread off with this:

Finally washed my Z after 5 months and 27 days!

I was going to make a thread other day telling members to check oil level every 4 weeks especially in summer time when we drive in 100 degrees plus weather with a/c on full throttle redlining the crap outta our engines!

I wouldn't know about that anymore. I know about heated garages now :icon17:

In fact, haven't turned on cold air in 8 months.

She's getting detailed sunday.

The *OFFICIAL* 370z.com mascot and I do a lot of driving together. Gotta get the hair cleaned out ... and I'm really lazy, so I'll pay someone else to do it.

Sometime over this past week, someone tried to steal the rear Nissan badge of mine... Never heard/saw anything. :ugh2:

http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1345266785

Didn't scratch the emblem, I'll strip off and re-do the Plasti-dip so no biggie, just left some bad gouges in the plastic surrounding the badge.

I was lucky, a neighbor across the street had their car hit as well (probably same people/night) of of the rear of their Honda Accord.

Some people. :shakes head:

Z_ealot 08-18-2012 01:29 AM

put some new shoes on the rears today and all i have to say is oh my god there is a hell of alotta grip in these new tires when they're warmed up

onzedge 08-18-2012 05:41 AM

I am driving her down to Santa Clara for the day fir a bit of wirk on a Saturday.

falconfixer 08-18-2012 08:07 AM

Gotta work today (thus I'm on the forum ) but tomorrow I'm going to reinstall the window seal on my driver's door. I tried three times to have the tint shop get the tint layed down deep enough but after a week the tint would grab and start to rip off in the forward corner. Found that the culprit is some rubber about 2 inches down in that makes life hell getting the tint correct.

Hmmm, maybe it's a dumb write-up but I'll take some pics and do a mini write-up on how to prep your doors for tint.

USMCASA 08-18-2012 08:12 AM

^try rounding that edge lower into the door. thats what formula one did with mine and i've never had a peeling issue and the rounded edge isn't visible

Davey 08-18-2012 08:34 AM

Gonna take her for a drive later and get the last of the break-in miles out of the way!

JARblue 08-18-2012 10:46 AM

:hello: AK et al

I just finished wash and interior detail. Heading out to a cruise with some fellow forums members.

Mt Tam I am 08-18-2012 10:58 AM

I spent the night driving around looking for Kenchan.

RiCharlie 08-18-2012 12:31 PM

I was cruising along Rt6 heading into Providence when my radar detector started giving little beeps where it had never given them before.

A guy from New Jersey in an SUV flew past me... I waited and the signals became stronger and as he rounded the bend his breaks lights went on..then I say the same gendarme of the law in his cruiser as he did. The cop car lights went on and the guy pulled to the side not even waiting to be chased..

I felt like giving a bit of a toot as I went by but instead I just laughed to myself.. I know I shouldn't laugh.. but i did..

alcheng 08-18-2012 12:45 PM

Ordered new set of white LEDs for the license plate, the set I got last month has couple of them burnt already :shakes head:

The seller has sent me a replacement, no charge, good service

But I still order another set, different kind, just to be safe, only $10, what the heck :happydance:

What was the different set? From VLED perhaps?

Trips 08-18-2012 02:26 PM

Finally got around to Plasti-Dip my side markers :ugh2:

falconfixer 08-18-2012 02:48 PM

If I could go back in time I would invest in Apple and Plasti-dip:tup:

Side note, was doing some spirited driving on the way home and was getting a stong odor of raw fuel....gonna have to look into that tomorrow.

pedZ 08-18-2012 03:50 PM

Changed the oil and installed the ZSpeed under shroud today. Taking the Z out for a spin in a little bit.

The main difference between the two are the type of the connections, the first one I got, which is the white one in the picture, only use the tiny-thin wire, it does not have enough surface area to completely "touch" the socket.

The new one I just ordered, have solder on the whole area... it will give a much more stable connection between the bulb and the socket.

Looking forward to receive the new one and will write up a quick review after install...

So does it actually have performace benefits. Additional downforce? better cooling?

ZSpeed claims that it has better cooling. It does have more venting so that's probably true. It also has a small removable section for doing oil changes so that all 16 screws don't have to be removed every time you need to get to the oil filter and drain plug. That's not a performance benefit but I like the convenience benefit.

That is surprising. That's who I was going to mention. If you find a better place let me know.
