I don't think the mirrors are overly large but you sit so low in a sports car that the mirrors are now at eye level rather than a bit below.

I don't think the mirrors are overly large but you sit so low in a sports car that the mirrors are now at eye level rather than a bit below. At least the Z has a right mirror. My '76 'vette doesn't. That can be very challenging on a busy freeway. Personally, on my Z, I adjust the left mirror out as far as possible to eliminate most if not all of the blind spot. Using the edge of the left rear quarter is not helping you any with the blind spot.
