I am gettting a delivery from Stillen today.

I guess I was a bit premature when I earlier posted that I was done modding.

You just wrote the story of my life -- cars, cphotographic equipment, audio, house upgrades -- it's all the same.

Nothing wrong with that. :)

Actually, not yet. The splitter is next after I do some Juke mods. The order delivering today is a little boring -- a Gates belt and Stillen grounding kit for the 370.

bbigby64 05-25-2012 09:35 AM

Ran 5 miles this morning in 52:57, about a minute and a half slower than last week's time of 51:14. I'm not sure what happened. I thought that I was moving at a better pace than last week -- obviously not. I gotta stop doggin' it. :shakes head:

Anyway, when the wife returns from the tennis club, we're gonna take the Z out to lunch. I'm looking forward to it. I need to eat after a morning run. I ate a yogurt/granola/strawberry cup to sustain me for a while, but the stomach can't last too much longer! I need to eat! :yum:

While out, I'm also gonna buy some headphones for my ASUS Transformer Prime tablet. I hate the crappy buds. These will be real decent headphones, but nothing super special ... just something to get the job done. :p

That's still an impressive time. I could probably run five miles in 6 hours. I'd have to stop off and nap in between.

Yeah, I usually buy new headphones with any device. Ear buds don't fit in my ears, as I have cauliflower ears. The lone exception are the Beats headphones that came with my HTC Rezound. They're pretty awesome.

Not much...Going to Yosemite in a few weeks, but not this weekend..it would be madness..

And saving for House upgrades...Well actually the whole damn house upgrade..

So laying low...

bbigby64 05-25-2012 09:44 AM

Also, today, I'm expecting UPS to deliver a set of 3D glasses. Can't wait to watch "Resident Evil: After Life" in 3D. :excited: I love science fiction movies. Some time this weekend, I'll watch my other movie ... "Underworld: Awakening". It's not in 3D, but I'll watch any movie with Kate Beckinsale in it. She's hot! :yum:

i have this tiny ball joint thingie coming to me so should be no issue leveling it. i personally dont like quick-locks (i hate the look of them and doesn't make camera sit upright unless it's on a mount). will see how it goes. :p

Nick911sc 05-25-2012 09:48 AM

Maybe it's better that Kate Beckinsale isn't in 3D. That could only lead to problems! rofl

:icon18: You could do it. Just start with 1/4 mile. Then, run a 1/2 mile. Continue with a 1/2 mile for a while. Then, when that becomes easy, run a 3/4 mile, or even a mile. Do a mile for a while. Then, add a 1/2 mile for a 1 1/2 mile run. As the runs get easier, keep adding a 1/4 or 1/2 mile. After a while, you'll be up to 2, then 3, then 4, or even 5 miles.

Keep in mind that you are not racing against anyone. Your times are personal to you. Don't overdo it, though. Listen to your body. If your legs begin to say, "Uncle," then stop, stretch, etc. There'll be another day. The trick to running is to start, and to do it consistently -- maybe 3 or 4 times per week. If you're not running, you can substitute other types of cardio exercises. I also do P90X routines.

I just added running into my routine and usually just do 1 Mile at a time. I have asthma and don't want to push myself too much to start (although I feel I can do more). I run with my Wheaten Terrier and he only has one pace... FAST.

Yea, people don't realize weight can be totally regulated by diet, no actual exercise needed.

It's called "shutting your pie hole"

You have to exercise forever to burn fat and calories...Just eat less of them..

On the other hand, exercise is more important than "losing weight" as it pertains to physical health. You can carry a gut and be more healthy than a very light person. It's a shame that the medical community still relies on weight/height (BMI) as a measure of fitness. It's bunk. I could show you a picture of two people who are each 6' tall, 250 lbs, where one would be very healthy and the other would be very unhealthy. Both would be considered "obese" by medical standards, even if one was carrying 4% body fat.

I understand the asthma. It's no joke. I don't have it, but I knew people who did. Yes, after you keep doing a mile over and over again, and frequently, the run becomes easy. I would be hesitant to push it, too. Only you know how you feel. Know your body. At least, having a pooch forces you to get out and exercise -- well, at least the conscientious dog owners. Some owners leave their dogs to sit around, get fat, and contract health problems ... just like people! :shakes head: That's why I don't have a dog. It's a big commitment that I don't want right now. I just couldn't leave my dog in the yard or house to just do nothing.

Nick911sc 05-25-2012 10:22 AM

Yup!

It's all about the caloric deficit vs surplus

I hate the BMI... I've always been into fitness, lift weights, running, clean eating etc. I am always considered overweight by the BMI and it's ridiculous... I wish they would move to a % bodyfat scale.

If I let my dog sit around... He'd go crazy! Most people aren't familiar with Wheatens, but his vertical jump is ridiculous and that translates him into jumping on everything. He can easily clear a midsized fence or get up on the counter without even running lol

well, it's good to keep moving your body and to stretch, i think, to prevent injury. that's about all needed for a normal person (given that this person is pretty active). for athletic folks that like doing sports and like spending time at it, then that's great. good time spent.

im more of a musician type and while i am a very healthy and slim guy, i dont need to go out of my way to keep slim. i just adjust wat i eat, especially the portion. :) (btw, i use to be a fat chum)

I work with a new coworker, a young man at the age of 22. He used to be chunky in college. I didn't know him then of course. He got serious about his weight and health, and he got his weight down to normal levels for his height, and he looks great. However, we couldn't appreciate his efforts until he revealed his "before/college" picture to us. We only knew the slim Nick. I applaud his achievements. He does the Insanity workout, and he puts better food in his body.
