Zmaster do a search I know that I posted in a thread on car covers. This is where I orderd my car cover http://www.carcoversdirect.com/ As a note Zmaster I really feel you get what you pay for in car covers.

This forum makes me think I can do mods to my car by myself. Then I walk to my car, stand in front of it, walk back inside, pick up the phone and call a mechanic...:ugh2:

But uh... I successfully installed an in cabin air filter and shift knob! lmao

Was curious how easy it would be to wire up the rear fog off of a 12v power supply to use it as an on off switch? Or would it be easier to just wire it off the OEM harness from the BCM panel or w/e it is...

Sounds familiar. Congrats on the air filter and knob! :p

You have to start somewhere. It's baby steps, my brother. Walk before you run. One day at a time.

Fire 05-16-2012 01:55 PM

I think it would be easier to run off factory harness.

I think so too, but then I get intimidated by the wiring that's involved lol

The High-of-The-Day is by the time I start leaving to the dealer the sun came out and the temperature rise, there was some rain-water on the Z but it dried up quickly.

Back to the Z stuffs, so I went to the dealer the pick up my Z, and I look at the lining carefully and inspect everything.... still it is not perfect because their contractor is trying to fix the top instead of replace the worn part.

So I tell them I am not completely satisfy with the job, the two personnel in the service department, one adviser and one manage, trying to explain to me what's the pros and cons, the whole time they are polite and patient, so at the end, since I do not want to leave to Z to them for another week for this issue, we, both parties, agreed I can bring the Z back to them around the winter time, so I will leave the Z to them and they will replace the canvas.

Done deal for now, and the service adviser offer me either a)an oil-change or b)a detailing service....

I chose (c)... I took a grey color Nissan Polo Shirt :icon18:

Well, the polo has their "Scarborough Nissan" logo on it, but what the heck, so far I am happy with them, so I wouldn't mind putting it on.

If they screw me in the future, I'll just stitch "Don't Go To" above their logo.... :icon18: :icon18:

once you get passed the first few 'oh my gosh i am a wimp' mods it wont feel much different thereafter. :icon17: it gets more tool intensive though. if you're up to the task (and you have the time) it's worth doing it, i think. but if you have a good mechanic you can count on, i suppose letting them do the work is not a bad idea either especially if you dont feel like buying the tools and/or just have a busy schedule.

regarding the fogs...if your car has the pre-wired harness i suppose plugging into that would be pretty easy. the other end a rocker switch for the center console or was it a steering stalk?

my car did not have the pre-wire so i just ran new wires. it's just time consuming to remove the trunk liner and center console so definitely do the rear view camera/HU and perhaps dynamat while you have the liner out.

Blew out an exhaust gasket on a run today. Car sounds like azz and zdayz hasnt even officially started. Every road here is amazing. BUT the other drivers are very dangerous and irresponsible. Few close calls already. Bikers are huge yellow line offenders, scary.

i use to travel a lot for business, but since having kids ive cut down about 99%. lol. when my kids are older i might decide to travel more again. at the moment im too busy with picking up the kids, etc since my wife works too. she really doesnt need to work as i can support the family on my own, but she's a very smart girl and likes working, so why not? she hates house chores anyway... :ugh2: (i get to do that :icon14: :wtf2: )

:tup: hahaha!! im not much of a watch person, but my Orient watch couldn't keep time very well after a fall...so decided to go Seiko this time. so far so good. :p yah, we can PDR people's cars, install suspension kits, exhaust/intake mods, do dressup aero kits, detailing, etc while we drink dietpepsi, and make some cash... and when we're bored, we can go kick the sob's arse for more yelling. :stirthepot: hahaha.

Unfortunately it's a Union shop so the pay raises are predetermined. It would take 280 days to get to the top rate which is still :icon14: I may decide to go into business for myself... Not sure if I want the headaches that are associated with that though.

We can do mods on our kids Big Wheels. :bowrofl:

Pintsize725 05-16-2012 08:13 PM

Installed the plate LEDs and discovered a huge scuffed area on my Z's butt. :shakes head: Guess this gives me more incentive to save up for the Amuse rear.

Fire 05-16-2012 08:15 PM

Who scuffed your rear Pint. Big wheel mods could be kewl Gale.

GaleForce 05-16-2012 08:15 PM

Everything from changing engines (even with different car companies providing the replacement engine) to complete suspension mods. I'm pretty sure I could install either a Stillen or GTM SC. Would need help with the tuning. Now to what has made me soo happy. Ever since coming to the forum I've been doing things outside my comfort zone. Body mods and detailing actually scare me. Drilling into the alum. trunk of a perfectly good sports car isn't something I'm used to. Today I buffed out some areas on the trunk that have bothered me for 2 years. 3 years ago I wouldn't have bought a DA( yes it is a random Kensan) and tried to do it. It was much easier than I expected. Tomorrow I'm doing a 3 step detail of the paint. 1st I'm using a Turtle wax scratch remover, then going to a Maguires Gold wax, and finally an ultimate shine with detail spray and the detail pad of the DA. I'm hoping for a great finish on my car. I'm doing everything short of claying it. The confidence I go into this task is all thanks to the encouragement of the GREAT people here. Thanks again guys(and gals). :worship::vuvuzela::woot:

I'm so glad we make you uncomfortable!

Nah, I'm glad to hear you're trying things you wouldn't normally do. And look...you wouldn't have ever known how easy a random orbital is to use unless you took the plunge! :happydance:
