The conditions of when they certify and sqying that nisan doesn't certify are two different things altogether. Not sure of your point?
But, what I have noticed having spent an enormously huge amount of time trying to find a used Z that's fairly priced.... Whenever a Z is overmileaged, the dealerships tend to certify them as a means to give some security to the purchase. If you find a low mileage Z? It is extremely rare to find it certified. They tend to just offer the warranty as an extra purchase or you can take it with whatever is remaining.

I was just talking to my sister about "certified" cars today. Smoke and mirrors. Certified doesn't mean crap.
She and my bro-in-law have a car lot and someone was trying to sell them a "certified" Lexus and it had been wrecked. Frame damage, etc.
Certification is just a way to squeeze more money out of you.

CPO is just another warranty just like anything else. It costs a dealer like 500 bucks to do it. If you tell them you won't buy it without CPO they will do it

extended bumper to bumper is much better than cpo warranty. Certified pre owned only covers the drivetrain. bumper to bumper covers, well, bumper to bumper

Wink

When I bought my Nismo last month. I had the option to buy the Certified Pre-Owned or not. For what it cost me. I went ahead and got it. It's alittle extra on the warranty.

the better cars usually don't have the word "certified" attached to it. Not saying all cerified vehicles are bad. But in the case of the Z. Non-cerified will most likely be a lower mileage car in better condition than the certified one.

My Nismo had 7,000 miles on it when I bought it.

question for the majority. when your coming up towards the end of the 36 months on your factory warranty, do you recommend exntended B2B or CPO? CPO warranty is very inexpensive but only covers drivetrain, B2B covers all your computer stuff too which in these cars is pretty important. I'm planning to get the extended warranty through santa clara nissan who has the best prices

If you go the aftermarket warranty route. CareGuard is awesome. Down to there GAP insurance. There warranty coverage is equal to manufacturer with more perks including roadside and free rental during warranty work.
