:icon18: Thought of going limo, but I decided to go lighter, looks more classy imo

But I did tint the windshield to make the sides look a little bit darker:

That looks great nmjaxx9! I don't know if I'd have the Cajones to do the front windshield like that, though one would suppose that it would be less easy to detect said tint than...say...illegal tint on the top portion, eh?

LMBmikeZ 01-25-2012 05:29 PM

Really the sun strips are illegal where you are? Here in Canada (Ontario anyway) we can have the sun strip across the top of the windshield.

Thanks. Yeah I actually found doing the whole windshield to be less noticeable, I went to get inspection on the vehicle, and the officer didnt even notice the front window tint.

Plus it helps block out the sun hitting your face when driving, and no annoying sun visor blocking half your view of the road. :icon17:

Nah, it's not so much the sun strip as much as the tint level that's illegal. I used to have 20% on my sun strip and it came down lower than the legal limit. Never got hassled, but you never know right? :)

Cosworth's aren't oiled. Check the specs on 'em, they're legit filters. I had one on my Evo X and it out-performed OEM, HKS, and K&N - while providing superior filtration. $45 ea

So do you think there will be any issue with this on the 2012 with the oil cooler? I can't tell from the pics if it would interfere in anyway.

I've e-mailed ZSpeed, but thought I'd ask on here, too.

sfearl1 01-26-2012 08:03 AM

^^ i'm not sure, i haven't seen placement of the oil cooler yet.

takjak2 01-26-2012 11:24 AM

The 2012 oil cooler is in line with the oil filter, there should be no interference with the aluminum under shroud

I just heard form Z1. He didn't think there would be any issues except possibly if there would be enough room to get your hand up in there to get to the filter through the access door. He was also kind enough to let me know that if I got and and it didn't work, he would take it back. So I may get one & see...

My favorite under $50 mod I got for my car was this sunshade for around $30. It is absolutely awesome during hot summer days.

FYI-this thread is NOT filled with cheap mods!

By the time I add up what I've spent on a fog light, start button, LED's, dynamat, an oil cap, an undershroud, wheel locks and probably a few other things I'm forgetting, it gets expensive! LOL.

And none if it is installed on my car (which now has 55 miles on it) yet.

Each individual mod is cheap, not all of them together :bowrofl:

happytheman 01-31-2012 11:42 AM

This!

Yah, if you're just looking to get a couple of things done to enhance your ride, hen its easy on the wallet! If, however, you're just getting started....well then it's easy to blow a couple more pecos than originally intended!:bowrofl:

I have yet to install mine, but people have said it does make things much more quite. I'm going to be stripping the rear + louder exhaust so I'm really only installing it for sound deadening (7 lbs vs 100's of lbs of dynamat sound deadening material). I'll also be getting black foam pieces to fill in any other area that the glass doesn't to let as little sound go through as possible.

Definitely the cheapest and 'coolest' way to reduce exhaust drone and road noise.

sfearl1 03-05-2012 12:00 AM

I posted this in the interior section as well.

I got bored today and masked off the Z on the sport kick plates and "painted" them with a metallic silver Elmer's painters marker ($3-4 at walmart). I think it turned out pretty good...
