Hey I got a question. I should be allowed to take my ZL1 to the Imports at Carlisle this year. It is built in Canada so that makes it an import right?? :stirthepot:

Indeed. The dealership was not sure how to handle me. Same with GM, but GM did accommodate me better than Nissan. I like my Nissan, but my GM experience cannot be paralleled, at the corporate, or dealership level.

cool. yah, our VQ engine sounds great with a nice exhaust for sure.

i recommend you remove the clutch pedal helper spring and replace with a century spring. check the vendor sponsor area MikeLB (i think was his name) sells them. i was lucky to find a friend's friend's friend sell one locally for a G37C which uses the same design and spring rate. :p

Fire 02-25-2012 06:19 PM

What was your GM experience import?

well, if you're buying a iconic car like the Z06 they BETTER treat you nice. kinda like if you were buying a GTR from nissan. i bet they will treat you differently.

but too bad GT-R's dont come with MT.

Fire 02-25-2012 06:47 PM

A Z06 I'm impressed :hello:

Z_ealot 02-25-2012 07:44 PM

Took Aoi-chan into the dealership today to fix a problem with the power window motor on the passenger side. From what they told me last week the power window motor burned out on the passenger side and they didnt have a replacement on hand when i showed up so they had to order it last weekend. Came in sometime during the week and went in to have it replaced today, took a while to get the work done but the guys at fontana nissan did a fantastic job making sure everything worked. Apparently from what they also told me it seems to be a common occurance on all the Z's including the 350Z's, but warranty came to save the day so no biggie in the end :)

memorylasts 02-25-2012 07:45 PM

i lowered the front after i got my supper slope ramps to balance the look of the car back out. front was riding high? lol

alcheng 02-25-2012 07:54 PM

Very Niceeee Mr.onzedge!!

PapoZalsa 02-25-2012 09:08 PM

Took the car to the dealer because I believe the Z has a bad fuel sending unit. Fill up and the bulbs only get to 1/2 tank.

Also took the Z to get the vinyl roof wrap. However the guy had a little bit of a hard time so I got it take back to get the edges retouch. :shakes head:

I had that happen once too. Called the dealer and they said I should wait until its time to fill again to see if the problem is reproducable. That's the first thing they're going to want to do when you take it in.

In for pics of the vinyl wrap! Love your color choice, and want to see how it's going to look on mine.

It happened before about 5 months ago, somehow it work again. However since the Z is not my DD I don't fill up every week.

takjak2 02-25-2012 10:04 PM

Drove to the dealership and ordered the washers for transmission and diff fluid change. Helped sell a Z while I was there.

Took a friend for a drive on a nice twisty road to ensure I get to drive his RB S13 when its done.

Autox in the morning.

Tour of bowling green watching ny car built, ordering process that was nearly transparent, no price debate, spent half an hour with the bowling green plant manager, had his cell number and advice to call him if I ever needed anything (I did, he remembered me qd well by name and handled the problem immediately, got me a new fender. Long story, but the original had q small crack. They sent me a new one, oem painted.). Also, I got a tour of the service dept. My own service tech, and his cell to make direct appointments with, dealer owner thanked me, gave me his cell, etc. Basically, I was treated very well from the plant manager down to the sales rep.
Nissan? I'd call the experiencence average, if that. Lots of communication breaks, distracted sales team dealing with personal situations while I'm trying to talk business, etc. Just kindof "meh".

I have this on the way already from a member in Canada. Should be here in 2 weeks or so, allowing shipping.

Went to Autoclub Speedway in Fontana, ca today. There was very little Z representation, I saw 2 350s and 2 other 370s. There was a BMW and s2k army though. There were also your usual bunch of 'vettes and Porsches, 3 GTRs, 2 Ferraris and a Lambo as well as some Mustangs and your usual assortment of STIs, etc. It was way too crowded, though, in the beginner group (there was a GT-r ad Ferrari in the beginner group, btw) so I left early. Also, a fart can Civic spilled oil all over the straight awya and oval which basically scrapped one of our sessions. Anyhow, what's with the low Z turnout at track events I always see a lot of m3s and other groups seem to make it out en masse as well.

brucelidat 02-25-2012 10:35 PM

I will create an album with some pics this week when i have time.

My friend just got the 1M couple months ago, and he always tease me with the exhaust note. To be honest, the OEM 1M has a very good sound.

Still not sure will I do it anytime soon, spent quite a bit on the Z ... :eekdance:

But I like the FI, sounds deep but not loud, also thinking about the Borla.
