phelan, you should spend that 5K on better tires.

but given the nature of your question...do what everybody else said. drive the car. push it, and see if you're happy with the performance or not. if you are, get the exterior mods. if you aren't, get the performance mods.

done.

Regarding exterior looks, the Nismo looks great.

Some minor mod's like intake & exhaust would work.

And yes, you're probably spoiled for power after driving your Dad's V8 Vantage.
Just remember, this is a V6 engine.

As long as the exterior mod does not lead to a ricer, I will go for a nice body kit, drop and tires+wheels.

Unless you will track the Z, why would you need 400+ from traffic light to traffic light.

Are you really that hungry to rush to a drive thru????

CBE, intake, shift knob, air freshener shaped like a pine tree. Spend the other 2 grand on cigars, bourbon, golf clubs and a nice semiautomatic handgun (OK, the last part was just my Christmas list, copied and pasted from my letter to Santa).

Only $5K?!?!
I'd do what I have done so far. Tint, exhaust, springs, spacers, intake, fresh rubber.
Also, get a tune and a rear camber kit.

Serious power mods need more than $5K.
Serious cosmetic mods require more than $5K. Sh!t, the wheels I want are $4500!

Rice is all subjective. I like the Amuse kit, but I think it borders on rice. Of course, I have a GT-R start button in my car, so who am I to judge?

That said, the car is fast enough in stock configuration to send you jail, so how much more power do you "need"?

I would likely do a combo of bolt on breathing enhancements and cosmetic bits. I don't really feel the need to squeeze more powah than what the minimal enhancements will net me in consideration that it's already plenty fast on the street AND I never intend on tracking the Z.

as far as Speed is concerned. im quite satisfied with upping it with the STILLEN gen 3 intake. and the exhaust system (eventually) the Z by itself is quite satisfying for someone on a budget. the interior and looks is where id look, but not TOO much .. (seats exc)
