carrying and drinking is a dangerous mix though

Good point, forgot to take that into consideration in this situation. In VA we can't drink and carry, I assume it's the same in other states as well.

Though I don't know if there's any evidence that Sean was drinking at all? He was driving so I would think he was not intoxicated.

I don't know of any state that allows you to carry while drinking. I have a permit to carry but it's not valid in California where I live right now. In Washington I certainly cannot carry while drinking. It's a bad idea all around.

The more I hear about this the more I wish for the Z driver to pull through. Nobody should have to pay for their mistakes (especially during their youth) with their life. If he really didn't know this girl and was trying to help her out, this is rediculous.

Doesn't preclude one from keeping a weapon tucked away in his car though. Back when I lived in GA I had a dedicated "car gun" that always stayed in my center console, even when I was carrying on person (which meant that I often had two guns within reach). I only carry semi-autos, but I opted for a compact revolver for my car gun because I figured if I ever had to open fire while seated in my car, I didn't want hot shells ejecting within such a confined space. Plus with semi-autos, there's an increased risk of jamming when firing from odd angles.
