Definitely switch companies. I was with Geico for over 5 years, no accidents or claims, the rate with the Z was 800/6 months then I shopped around and got $1000

Definitely switch companies. I was with Geico for over 5 years, no accidents or claims, the rate with the Z was 800/6 months then I shopped around and got $1000 a year with Amica. Geico didn't even offer to beat their rate or anything so screw them.
Even for NYC that seems really high. I don't know how these insurance companies come up with these rates though... my gf just started looking for insurance for her new 2011 rogue and she got quoted 500-700 more than me for my Z and she's over 25, no accidents or tickets on record. I would have thought she'd at least pay the same or less than me...
