Also the question is, those high power and somewhat exclusive muscle cars, selling? I don't know this and I would be interested in looking at the data if someone can offer any.
Apparently the new Camaro has been selling as fast as they can get to the dealership. I also doubt the Mustang sales are anywhere as low as the Z. They're selling.

If they make the Z more competitive on the street with the pony cars I bet the sales would increase. Who would complain about more power?

^^I agree with that. I think Nissan will stay true to the Z's lineage and continue producing a car based off the simple idea of performance at a low price. I mean isn't that what the Z has always stood for?

Yeah.. Definitely doubt any big bump in hp. If they gave it more power they'll lose sales to the GT-R. And definitely most times dealing with TT are gonna have problems. Nissan would be losing money keeping it all under warranty. Look at the muscle cars the more hp the more problems (in some cases?).

the only new Z i'd sell mine for is one that's got Twin turbos or a v8. no sense in switching cars in order to gain 30bhp.

as far as reliability. i see a fair amount of 90's 300zx TT's on the road which are like 15-20 years old.

I can't see the Z ever going to an 8, most companies are downsizing their 8's to 6's - IE the next M3 is going to be a 6

Probably direct injection, which should give it a slight HP bump.

I would request an LS7

Seriously, though, I would pick whichever was lighter and would keep me closest to the factory weight distribution. The Z is about handling.

I agree with those who say nissan won't go with a v8. it's not their history
with the car. plus it would add more weight to the car it would need a complete redesign. with the last change they went shorter and wider
which was great. imo the z will never reach 400hp it's not built that way.

with that said this car imo was not made to compete with the mustangs and camaros. two different markets. once you reach the 40,000 mark the air gets thin. anyway my point or guess is nissan will do whatever it takes to own
the market for rear wheel drive 2 seater sports cars.

point in it's class 35-40,000 370 1st
point in it's class 45- 50,00 vette 1st
only 2 seat sports car i would buy

I still think it will have one more new grey color to make it really exciting.

a lot of the newer v8's aren't that much heavier than v6's. these aren't cast iron blocks. they are aluminum. we're talking like 40-70lbs difference in a vehicle that weighs over 3000lbs. yes. weight distribution is key, but the v8's nowadays aren't these giant monstrous heavy slabs of metal.

BMW M3's V8 weighs less than their previous I6.
