So I saw the TSB, are we supposed to take it to the dealer for getting this fixed by showing him the TSB for the seat clicks? Is it free to repair etc.? Or do we have to go to any repair shop and pay ourselves?

It might take two visits, first to explain the problem and show them and then the next is to fix it.

Oddly, my car suffered from this problem for months. It bothered me every time I drove it. I even brought it to my dealer's attention back in July. Then I seemed to forget about it. I saw this post last night and tried to see if I still had the problem this morning and didn't notice it. I wonder if it just went away, or whether I have gotten so used to it that I don't even notice it at all anymore.

I took the TSB to my dealer (along with the other one about the stuck hatch release button issue - they fixed that).
It says: APPLIED VIN/DATE: Vehicles built before JN1AZ44(**)9M 410159 / 26-Jun-2009 My VIN turned out to be a little higher than this limit :-( (have a red '09 base AT) So I guess still no solution for me yet? And I believe the 2010's do not have this issue at all. Are there other people with production dates after June 2009 with the still issue? :-( |

wtf? why does it matter what the date is? If the problem's the same you'd think they'd look at the TSB and FIX IT...These dealerships are worse than dirty lawyers

KingZee, the dealership said that my model didn't have those same washers. They did order the parts for me, I saw them, but that was before they (and I) noticed that the range of VINs on that TSB did not match my car's.
I know they took the seat apart too after which they realized that the parts didn't match, and then we all paid closer attention to the TSB to realize that the VIN range didn't match my car's VIN - so for whatever reason, all this IS true.. unfortunately. For some reason, Nissan hasn't come out with a TSB for the same issue for my VIN range.. maybe they felt the issue wasn't there in my range. PapoZalsa: I'm PM'ing u. |

The problem is that the adjuster (for lack of a better term) rod comes loose from the seat frame in the front corner nearest the shifter. Nissan just used one of the one way push on washers that is supposed to "lock" onto the adjuster shaft. Well it does not work well.
What I had to do on the 350Z was take the seat out. Push on the shaft just a little bit and drill a hole through it. I then put a cotter pin through the hole. Never had the problem again, and my car saw some very aggressive driving on the AutoX course.
