Not saying that there is or is not BS in the original story, but you can certainly cause damage like that if you hit a fixed object at 30mph since the forces behind that kind of impact is sizeable. Hitting a high enough curb at 30mph can definately rip a wheel off as well.

Good luck getting the car fixed OP, it always stinks to have to go through with this.

Its Plausible.....30mph is fast especially if you hit a solid object...

seems like people think my car was ripped to shreds. i just crumpled a fender and ripped off my tire(the rim isnt even bent)

anyway, supposedly they're gonna be done with my car this week, but they also said they'd have to finished October 20th...

i went and saw the paint already, i need to get it in the light, but so far it seems ok. i couldnt see any imperfections.

If you don't think turning the front tires can cause the back tires to lose traction you're crazy. Especially when one of the back tires is about 2 inches wide.

Driving down to Taco Bell after a movie, and find out my back right tire has a huge nail it in, so I put my spare tire on. Try to take your car here if your insurance will approve the work! They do excellent work! They will match your paint, you will be happy!

The spare tire may have contributed to the loss of traction! A fresh oiled road and "the brand of tires on the Z" , doesn't surprise me that this happened!
